Dream Match Official for WWE Raw on Netflix
Adam Pearce announced on this week’s WWE Raw that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins for the first time since Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series last year. Pearce confirmed that this long-awaited match will take place during the premiere episode of Raw on Netflix, scheduled for January 6.
The show kicked off with CM Punk delivering a fiery promo from the center of the ring, addressing Rollins’ comments from the previous week. Punk dismissed Rollins’ claim that the two would never cross paths and goaded him to come out. Rollins obliged, standing in the audience and taking more shots at Punk, even calling him by his real name, “Phil.”
This was enough to push Punk over the edge, leading him to storm out of the ring and into the stands, where a wild brawl erupted. The two fought back and forth through the audience and around the ringside area. Multiple officials and referees intervened, attempting to separate the two and restore order.
Backstage, Rollins confronted Adam Pearce, demanding that the match be officially booked. Pearce later confirmed the match would indeed happen. In addition to the Punk vs. Rollins showdown, the premiere will also feature a major contest: Solo Sikoa will face Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat Match for the Ula Fala.
WWE Announces Raw’s Move to Netflix with New Logo Reveal
As Monday Night Raw gears up for its highly anticipated move to Netflix on January 6, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque unveiled a new logo for the flagship show in a hype video shared across social media. “A logo is an identity. It tells you everything you need to know without saying anything at all. It’s real. Rebellious. Raw. Welcome to Raw on Netflix!” Triple H proclaimed before revealing the sleek new logo.
The premiere episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix will take place at the state-of-the-art Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, marking a historic moment for WWE and its passionate fan base. Major stars already confirmed for the debut include WWE legend John Cena, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Bianca Belair, with more surprise guests expected.
Netflix’s acquisition of Raw comes as part of the streaming giant’s continued push into live sports, which has already included events like the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match, the Netflix Slam exhibition tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, and a legendary hot-dog eating contest featuring Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi.
WWE President Nick Khan praised Netflix’s ability to tell compelling stories, saying, “In its relatively short history, Netflix has engineered a phenomenal track record for storytelling. We believe Netflix, as one of the world’s leading entertainment brands, is the ideal long-term home for Raw‘s live, loyal, and ever-growing fan base.”
Beyond Raw, Netflix will also become the home for all WWE content outside the U.S., including premium live events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and more. WWE will also bring its award-winning documentaries, original series, and upcoming projects to Netflix starting in 2025.
