On November 29, WWE presented the go-home WWE SmackDown show for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. It was actually a taped show from Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show featured the final build WWE had in store for us for Survivor Series. The highlight of the show was a talk between Roman Reigns and CM Punk before they both team up in WarGames. What happened between the OTC and the Best in the World? Let’s find out in WWE SmackDown November 29 Results, Grades and Analysis.
Women’s WarGames Bedlam
The show kicked off with Bianca Belair’s entrance. Naomi, Bayley, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley followed her. Ripley said that they will end everything tomorrow and they will be unstoppable. Naomi and Iyo also talked about destroying their opponents inside WarGames. Rhea said that Liv will wish she would never have met her. Liv Morgan and her team came out. A manipulative game began and everyone pointed out others as manipulators.
Nia pointed out the tensions between Iyo and Bayley in the past. In response, Bayley pointed out tensions between Jax and Stratton. Morgan tried to blame Ripley for the attack on Jade Cargill. Rhea told Liv to shut up. The Women’s World Champion vowed to break Mami’s face in WarGames. All ten women fight at ringside as WWE Officials broke them apart.
Grades: B-
Analysis: From a storyline perspective, it is a weak one. WWE has tried to build hype with multiple brawls. The match itself would be crazy looking at the stars involved. Nia pointing out tensions between Sky and Bayley was a good point as nobody is talking about it.
WWE SmackDown Shinsuke Nakamura vs Andrade
Nakamura began with his traditional kicks and one of them sent Andrade down. Andrade dropkicked Shinsuke from the top rope to the floor. After the commercial break, both men were on the ropes. Andrade sent Shinsuke down with some elbow shots and landed a moonsault for a two-count. Andrade hit the back elbow for another nearfall.
Andrade delivered a couple of suplexes. Nakamura was in the corner. Andrade went for the double knee strike but Shinsuke had pulled off the turnbuckle pad and Andrade crashed into steel part. Shinsuke took the advantage and hit Kinshasa for the win. LA Knight came after the match but Shinsuke sprayed mist into his face.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a good match. Shinsuke has dominated against Knight in the build so far. These two will collide in the ring for the United States Championship at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024.
Backstage: Nick Aldis said that everyone is barred from ringside during the WarrGames match later tonight. Also, Ciampa gave Gargano another week to bring their way to the tag titles or they’ll go with Ciampa’s plans. A video package of Kevin Owens was aired where he brought back old clips of Bloodline attacking him multiple times when Cody Rhodes was in the arena too. KO said that Cody didn’t come to save him. Owens said that he will turn Cody into Canadian Dream at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes vs Carmelo Hayes
The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was in action against Carmelo Hayes. Both superstars try to get some offense as Cody landed a Disaster Kick. Cody hit a suplex from the second rope. Hayes came back with a face buster for a nearfall. Cody hit a powerslam and applied the Figure Four Leglock, but Hayes reached the ropes. In the end, Rhodes delivered a Cody Cutter followed by a Cross Rhodes for the victory.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a match just to book Cody Rhodes on the show. Also, they don’t seem to have a new plan for Hayes after the feud with Andrade. KO appeared through a vignette where he made valid points. It looks like the main focus on KO and Cody’s story will be after Survivor Series.
Roman Reigns and CM Punk Sit-Down
Paul Heyman, Roman Reigns and CM Pun sat down for a talk. Roman told Punk that he doesn’t need any help from him. Reigns also said that he doesn’t like the attitude of Punk. Heyman told Roman that Solo was had them in checkmate and they needed help. Paul also warned Punk that if they didn’t come out as winners at WarGames, Solo will be after him. Heyman made it clear that survival is possible as a unit.
Punk said that he is not a fan of Roman too and he’s here for Paul Heyman. Punk said that it’s “one time, one favor” deal. Reigns asked about the favor. Punk said that Heyman will owe him a favor and left. Reigns then questioned Heyman about the favor. Paul advised to get through the WarGames first and they’ll talk about it later.
Grades: A
Analysis: It was a great storytelling talk. WWE SmackDown Heyman calling Reigns his Tribal Chief and Roman calling him the Wiseman during whole discussion sounded good and brought back memories as well. Heyman has surely promised Punk something in exchange of the favor. The story will be more interesting after WarGames at Survivor Series.
Piper Niven vs Michin vs Lash Legend
Next up was a triple threat match in the Women’s US Title Tournament. Piper landed a big cross body on Michin. Lash picked up Niven but Michin dropkicked both of them. Michin sent both women to the floor and laid them out with a moonsault. Chelsea tried to interfere but was taken out by B-Fab. Piper hit a cannonball on Michin but Lash saved the match. Niven landed a splash off the second rope on Legend.
It was another two-count as Michin broke the pin. Legend hit a chokeslam on Niven and a powerbomb on Michin.
Niven continued the action with a senton on both women. Piper came down from the top on Lash who moved out of the way. Legend then dropped Niven. Michin took out Lash and pinned Niven for the win.
Winner: Michin
Grades: C
Analysis: It was a fun triple threat match. This US Title Tournament has given opportunities to multiple female superstars to showcase their talent. Lash Legend has great strength and delivered a fine performance tonight. Michin advances in the tournament.
WWE SmackDown Jey Uso vs Jacob Fatu
The main event of the night was a WarGames advantage match between Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu. Nick Aldis had already banned everyone from ringside earlier on the show. In the beginning of the match, it was all Jacob Fatu. He laid out Jey with a shoulder tackle. Later, Fatu caught Uso at ringside and sent him to the ring post and commentary table. After the break, Jey bounced back and sent Fatu into the ring post a couple of times. Jey hit the running hip attack. Uso jumped from the top but was caught by Fatu mid-air for a nearfall.
Jey connected with a superkick which barely affected Fatu as the Samoan Werewolf replied with a Samoan Drop. Fatu went for a splash from the top but Jey moved and delivered a spear for a nearfall. At ringside, Uso landed a suicide dive. Fatu recovered and hit a devastating Samoan Drop on Jey on the commentary table. Jacob sent Jey back in the ring and connected with a moonsault for the win. The New Bloodline stood tall on the stage as the show closed.
Winner: Jacob Fatu
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a brilliant match to close out the show. Jacob Fatu really has charisma in the ring. He brought the advantage to his team at WarGames. It is good to see that WWE didn’t go for another brawl on the show. They kept it simple and the hype is already enough for the WarGames.
Final Word of WWE SmackDown November 29
The go-home Friday Night SmackDown is over. We are less than 24 hours away from WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. Roman Reigns and CM Punk really had a cinematic sit-down with Paul Heyman in his greatness as always. They have made things interesting for the future as well with the favor Punk demanded from Heyman in return. KO and Cody’s story progressed in a decent way.
