    Everyone is chasing Cody Rhodes

    credit: WWE

The show kicked off with the American Nightmare, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. He said that Jey Uso chose Gunther for WrestleMania and that all eyes are now on Elimination Chamber to find the challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He mentioned everyone who has qualified for the Chamber match, such as John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul.

Drew McIntyre interrupted, and he was not happy with Cody’s words about him. McIntyre reminded him that he is a multiple-time World Champion, a two-time Elimination Chamber winner, and a Royal Rumble winner as well. Rhodes acknowledged and recounted that McIntyre is one of the very few people who has defeated him since his return.

Jacob Fatu came out alongside Tama Tonga. Fatu vowed to secure his spot in the chamber match tonight and bring the title back to the family at WrestleMania. McIntyre left as he said he had nothing to do with Fatu. On-screen, we saw that Solo Sikoa had arrived in an SUV. Rhodes wanted to leave the ring and take his revenge on Solo for the last week. Fatu stopped him and said he’d speak with Sikoa first about the family business. Backstage, Fatu and Tonga looked for Solo.

    Grades: B+

Analysis: It was a fun segment to kick off Friday Night SmackDown. Jacob Fatu has improved well on the mic and has a unique style. Cody is on target for everyone in the Chamber match. WWE also hyped the fans about what’s to come between Sikoa and Fatu. They have dropped the plans for McIntyre and Priest, at least for now.

Naomi vs Chelsea Green – Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier

    credit: WWE

Bianca Belair and Piper Niven were at ringside. Green slapped Naomi, who replied with a kick and a leg drop. Naomi landed a Meteora for a near fall. Naomi delivered a crossbody block from the top, followed by a bulldog. Chelsea knocked Naomi on the middle rope and landed a knee strike on the back. Naomi countered the Un-Pretty-Her into an X-Factor and hit a split-legged moonsault for the win.

    Winner: Naomi

    Grades: C

Analysis: It was a short match with an obvious winner. Naomi earned the victory and will participate in the women’s Elimination Chamber Match.

    Sami Zayn’s Video Message

In a video package, Sami Zayn talked about his recovery. He spoke about how Owens got mad at him for not helping in a wrestling match. Zayn said that he was worried about Kevin’s health, but all KO wanted was for him to push Cody off the ladder. Sami said that he has no idea when he’ll be back,, but once he returns, it won’t be fun between him and Owens anymore.

Los Garza vs Motor City Machine Guns

    credit: WWE

MCMG started the match strongly and sent Los Garza to the outside. However, Berto and Garza returned quickly to prevent a suicide dive. After the break, Angel delivered a backbreaker onto Shelley while Berto took out Sabin with a clothesline. Garza landed an impressive moonsault to the outside onto Shelley. At ringside, Sabin performed a suicide dive. In the ring, MCMG hit the Skull and Bones on Berto for the win.

    Winner: Motor City Machine Guns

    Grades: B

Analysis: It was a fine tag team match. MCMG won, but Los Garza looked great, too. Machine Guns are awesome, but WWE should also give opportunities to teams like Los Garza and Pretty Deadly.

Jacob Fatu talks to Solo Sikoa

Backstage, Fatu and Tonga found Sikoa and asked him what was going on. Solo said that he wanted a break after losing the Ula Fala. Solo agreed that he let the family down, but he is back now to take over. Sikoa told Fatu to win the qualifying match, win the Elimination Chamber, and bring the title back to the family at WrestleMania. Before they left, Solo said that he loves Fatu.

    What’s Next for Shinsuke Nakamura?

    credit: WWE

The United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, arrived in the ring. He talked in Japanese and said that he waited in the shadows and prayed for a worthy opponent to come in his way. LA Knight came out and told Nakamura that he had him beaten last time if it wasn’t for the Bloodline. The Miz came out and said he was worthy of getting a match against Nakamura.

LA Knight cut him off and said Miz would discuss his accomplishments now. He said that Miz was relevant 10 years ago. He called Miz a crybaby like Drew McIntyre. Miz said that at least he was on top once, and if his career ends now, he would have a great resume. Miz said that Knight can’t say the same about himself. The A-Lister said that if John Cena can call his shot, he can also demand the US Title match.

Knight said that he defended the title every week during his reign and that Miz is not championship material. Miz tried to attack, but Knight countered. Knight went for BFT, but Miz escaped. Nick Aldis came out and made a match between Miz and Knight to determine Nakamura’s challenger.

    Grades: B

Analysis: It was a banger promo battle between Miz and Knight. Both men put on a show with their valid points on the mic. Miz is really awesome and can make anyone and any segment look better.

    LA Knight vs The Miz

    credit: WWE

Knight delivered a running knee in the corner, but The Miz sent him throat-first into the top turnbuckle. Miz landed a kick to the head and a neckbreaker for a two-count. Knight bounced back and sent Miz outside, followed by a baseball slide. After the commercial, Knight delivered a neckbreaker and an elbow drop for a near fall.

Miz hit a flatliner and a DDT, but Knight kicked out at two. In the end, LA Knight hit the BFT and an elbow drop from the top rope for the win. Nakamura entered the ring after the match and had a confrontation with Knight.

    Winner: LA Knight

    Grades: B-

Analysis: It was a decent match. Knight will challenge for the US Title again. Nakamura’s run hasn’t been very good, and he needs new opponents besides Knight.

    Carmelo Hayes vs R-Truth

    credit: WWE

Hayes attacked from behind, but Truth hit him with a hip toss. Truth delivered a shoulder tackle and did John Cena’s You Can’t See Me gesture. Carmelo got up and delivered a superkick and a stunner, followed by a double knee strike to the face. Truth tried a rollup pin, but Hayes kicked out. In the end, Carmelo landed Nothing But Net for the win.

    Winner: Carmelo Hayes

    Grades: C

Analysis: It was a short match. SmackDown is three hours now, and they put these filler matches on the card. Carmelo Hayes should be doing something better.

Kevin Owens’ reply to Sami Zayn

In a video from his car, Kevin Owens said that he had been betrayed by three people in the last few months. He considered all of them his brothers. Owens said that he’d show Zayn what the real pain is. KO challenged Sami to a match at the Elimination Chamber.

Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

    credit: WWE

Nia drove Tiffany into the corner before tossing her across the ring. Jax lifted Stratton into the air and landed a powerful headbutt. Nia delivered a Samoan Drop and a body slam, followed by a leg drop for a near fall. Stratton escaped a powerbomb and landed a dropkick. Charlotte Flair was shown watching the match backstage. Tiffany tripped Nia on the middle rope and delivered a double stomp.

Jax hit a Samoan Drop from the second rope, followed by a leg drop from the second rope, which resulted in another near fall. Back from the break, Tiffany landed a moonsault from the top rope onto Nia outside the ring. She rolled Nia back into the ring and delivered a Swanton Bomb from the top for a two-count. Jax attempted the Annihilator twice, but the Champion escaped and hit a modified spinebuster.

Tiffany prepared for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Candice LeRae appeared on the apron and tripped Tiffany, ending the match in a disqualification. Candice tossed a steel chair into the ring. Trish Stratus leapt over the barricade and knocked Candice. Stratus showed some fight, but the numbers game got the best of her.

Charlotte Flair made her way to the ring as officials rushed down to stop the chaos. Nia landed another leg drop onto Tiffany. The officials broke things up as Nia and Candice left the ring. Charlotte took the mic, sat beside Stratton and said, “The Queen chooses you, I’ll see you at WrestleMania,” before dropping the mic.

    Winner: Tiffany Stratton by DQ.

    Grades: A

Analysis: So much happened in this segment of the show. First of all, the match between Jax and Stratton was excellent. It was a PLE-level match on a weekly show. Stratton is a babyface now. Trish Stratus jumped in and tried to help, which came out of nowhere. Charlotte Flair has picked Tiffany Stratton as we predicted in the WrestleMania 41 Match Card Predictions.

    Backstage

    • Nick Aldis updated Bianca Belair and Naomi on the Jade Cargill situation, showing them a video he received on a cell phone. The footage showed Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez walking past the ambulance while everyone else was occupied. Aldis insisted on calling Pearce. However, Bianca informed him they were heading to Raw to deal with Liv and Raquel.
    • Drew McIntyre stopped Jimmy Uso and teased him about his singles career going down while his brother Jey Uso will main event WrestleMania 41. Jimmy superkicked him and left. This will progress weekly and lead to Jimmy getting something as a singles star at WrestleMania.

Jacob Fatu vs Braun Strowman vs Damian Priest – Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier

    credit: WWE

The main event of the night was an explosive triple threat to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. The crowd started chanting “Fatu!” as Braun hit a big boot onto Fatu. Priest and Fatu managed to double clothesline Strowman to the outside. Fatu landed a stiff chop to Priest’s chest. Priest countered with a back elbow, and both men exchanged punches. Strowman returned to the ring and delivered a running crossbody, sending both his opponents flying to the outside.

Back from the break, Strowman crashed into steel steps, and Fatu smashed the steps onto him. Back in the ring, Priest hit Fatu with a back elbow and a spinning heel kick. Jacob delivered a headbutt to Braun on the apron and landed a Samoan Drop on Damian in the ring. Fatu performed a suicide dive onto Strowman outside the ring. He climbed the top rope and landed a Swanton Bomb onto Priest for a two-count.

Fatu and Priest were on the ropes as Strowman re-entered the ring. Strowman grabbed Fatu and powerbombed him off the top rope while Fatu managed to suplex Priest. Braun clotheslined Fatu and landed a back-body drop, sending him to the outside. At ringside, Priest slammed Fatu face-first onto the commentary table. Braun charged around the ring and sent Priest flying over the announce table.

Braun hit a chokeslam on Fatu onto the commentary desk and tossed him into the ring. Back in the ring, Fatu delivered two superkicks and a running hip attack in the corner. Fatu wrapped a chair around Strowman’s head, aiming for another hip attack. The Monster woke up and landed a big boot to the Werewolf. Strowman now wrapped the chair around Fatu’s neck and prepared for an attack.

Solo Sikoa ran down and delivered a Samoan Spike to Strwoman. Fatu climbed to the top and landed a moonsault. Cody Rhodes rushed to the ring and threw Solo into the ring post. Tama Tonga then appeared and attacked Cody from behind. Cody ducked a Samoan Spike, and Solo accidentally struck Tonga. Fatu stepped outside and eyed Solo, but Priest shoved Fatu into Solo.

Cody then hit Solo with a Cross Rhodes. In the ring, Priest landed a South of Heaven to Strwoman for the win. After the match, Cody Rhodes stepped into the ring with Damian Priest as both men stared at the WrestleMania logo. They shook hands as SmackDown went off the air!

    Winner: Damian Priest

    Grades: A

Analysis: It was an intense battle to cap off the show. Jacob Fatu looked super good, as always. All three men got to show their skills. Priest will go on to the men’s chamber match. It looks like Strowman and Fatu have some unfinished business. Also, tensions are rising with Solo Sikoa on one side while Jacoob Fatu and Tama Tonga on the other.

Overall, a decent SmackDown episode. What’s your take on WWE SmackDown February 14 Results?
