On August 22, 2025, WWE presented its first TV show from Dublin, Ireland. The show was Friday Night SmackDown from the 3Arena. John Cena made an appearance to confront Logan Paul. Drew McIntyre’s journey had an interesting turn. The MFTs faced the Street Profits while MCMG battled Melo Don’t Miz. Let’s delve into the details of WWE SmackDown August 22 Results.
The Man has come around to her home

The show opened with the women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, making her entrance to a loud home crowd ovation. Becky talked about watching a live event in Dublin, and now they have a TV show. The crowd chanted, “We deserve it”, to which Becky responded by saying that none of them deserves this. The mood changed in the building, and the crowd started booing The Man. Lynch ran through her achievements.
Tiffany Stratton interrupted, and she told Lynch that she was on the wrong show and it’s Tiffy time. Nia Jax came out, and she sided with Lynch on insulting the crowd. She attacked Stratton, and Lynch joined the action too. Jade Cargill made the save for the WWE Women’s Champion. Nick Aldis came out and made a tag team match in the main event later tonight.
Grades: B+
Analysis: Becky Lynch opening the show in Dublin was a great move. The Man did a decent crowd work here. Tiffany finally did something on the show, as it is hard to remember what the Women’s Champion is up to in recent weeks. We have a tag team match official for the main event.
Melo Don’t Miz vs Motor City Machine Guns

Miz and Carmelo Hayes argued a bit over who would start the match. Chris Sabin took advantage and landed a double dropkick, followed by a dive to the outside. Back in the ring, the crowd chanted for Miz, and Hayes tagged him. MCMG double-teamed on Miz, and Shelly delivered an Inverted Atomic Drop. Hayes tagged in and looked to end with a Nothing But Net. Miz tagged himself quickly. Carmelo hit a lungblower on Sabin. The Miz pinned Sabin for the victory.
Winners: Melo Don’t Miz
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a short but fun match. The chemistry between Miz and Carmelo is fun to watch. However, the arguments every week suggest that it won’t last long, and we might see them breaking up soon. It would be an interesting program, especially for the future of Carmelo Hayes in WWE.
Charlotte Flair vs Piper Niven

The crowd heavily chanted for Chelsea Green, who was at ringside as the action began in the ring. Niven delivered a Big Bossman Slam for a two-count, thanks to a distraction from Green. Piper landed a crossbody and a corner splash. Flair fought back with chops and a clothesline. The Queen landed a top rope moonsault for a close fall. Charlotte hit a spear and applied the Figure Four. Alba Fyre got the referee distracted as Green cheaply attacked Flair. This allowed Niven to hit a Piper Driver for the win.
Winner: Piper Niven
Grades: C
Analysis: It was a shocking win for Piper Niven here. Alexa Bliss was nowhere to be seen in her tag team partner’s corner. Nonetheless, Niven had a big win as Charlotte Flair seldom loses.
Backstage
Sami Zayn congratulated Jimmy Uso on the news of his becoming a father. Zayn said that the baby will have an Uncle Sami Uso. Solo Sikoa interrupted alongside his MFTs. He talked about the baby and told Sami that there won’t be any more underdog Sami Zayn stories. Zayn said that Solo will face a WrestleMania main eventer, Sami Zayn, not the underdog. Elsewhere, Michin wanted a match against the women’s US Champion, Giulia. Kiana James told Michin that she had to deal with her first.
John Cena and Logan Paul face-to-face

John Cena made his entrance to a thunderous crowd ovation in Dublin. The ring announcer did the special announcement for Cena. Logan Paul interrupted before Cena could talk. The crowd chanted “F_ you, Logan” before Paul told them that they were being muted on TV. Logan said that Cena does everything for attention and referred to John’s naked appearance at the Oscars. Cena praised Logan before going after him.
Cena said that Logan was brought with high hopes, but he became a disappointment. Cena walked to the outside near the PRIME hydration station. Cena noted that Paul used WWE for his branding to earn money and buy another Pokémon card. Cena called Logan a parasite instead of an outsider. He said that Logan stole opportunities from deserving stars like Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles. Cena brought up Logan’s legal issues as well before telling him to bring his A-game to Clash in Paris. Cena ended the segment with an AA to Paul.
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a brilliant segment. Logan Paul has really learned to do WWE and plays a natural heel. On the other hand, Cena is one of the best on the mic, and he gave a glimpse of his greatness. Backstage, Drew McIntyre advised Logan Paul to make things right tonight just like he did to Cody Rhodes on August 8th SmackDown.
The Street Profits vs The MFTs (Tonga Loa and JC Mateo)

Angelo Dawkins hit a dropkick on Tonga Loa before Montez Ford landed a standing moonsault. Mateo fought back in MFT’s corner, and a distraction helped him. Solo Sikoa punched Ford as JC distracted the referee. Loa delivered a back suplex, and Mateo followed up with a deadlift suplex for a two-count. The assault on Ford continued for a while before he managed to tag his partner.
Angelo Dawkins charged at Mateo and hit an enzuigiri. Ford tagged back in, but Talla Tonga interrupted. This gave Mateo an opening for the Tour of Islands, but Ford kicked out at two. Jimmy Uso landed a chair shot on Talla. They fought into the crowd. Meanwhile, Sami Zayn attacked Solo at ringside. In the ring, Dawkins laid out Mateo for Ford to hit a splash for the win.
Winners: Street Profits
Grades: B-
Analysis: It was a fine match. We expected a win for MFTs here, which would get them closer to the tag team titles, but Profits got the upper hand. The rivalry between Solo and Sami was more focused on in the match.
R-Truth reached the wrong Dublin

Aleister Black made his entrance to take on R-Truth in a singles match. Truth appeared in a video message and said that he mistakenly arrived in Dublin, Georgia. He said he didn’t know there was more than one place named Dublin. Truth said, “My bad,” before saying that he called a friend to handle Black tonight. It was revealed to be Damian Priest who came out for revenge on Aleister. The two brawled before the officials separated them.
Grades: C
Analysis: It was a decent segment. R-Truth is back in his character that everyone loves. The story between Black and Priest will be interesting, but if it comes with both stars gaining something. Last time, Priest destroyed McIntyre in the Steel Cage but ended up with no reward after. It has started to become a problem in the Triple H era, where a story will be good, but there is no aftermath for the star going over.
Randy Orton is back!

Drew McIntyre arrived in the ring and demanded an update on Cody’s health. McIntyre called him a b*tch before saying a few more things about him. In the meantime, Randy Orton appeared in the back and levelled McIntyre with RKO out of nowhere. Randy’s theme played as the crowd sang along to it.
Grades: B
Analysis: Randy Orton appeared for the first time since SummerSlam. It looks like Cody vs McIntyre is postponed for now, and Randy is in the mix. Rhodes is nowhere to be seen.
Becky Lynch and Nia Jax vs Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill

Tiffany started against Becky and sent her to the outside before landing a senton. Jax and Lynch dominated Stratton for some time. Jade Cargill got the hot tag, and she delivered a Fallaway slam on Lynch, followed by a spinning powerbomb for a near fall. Jax tagged in and prepared for an Annihilator. Jade reversed it into a powerbomb. Tiffany landed the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, followed by a splash by Cargill for the victory.
Winners: Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a fun match in the main event. The story didn’t make much sense, though. It was a one-off tag match, just to feature the home girl Becky Lynch on the show.
Logan Paul laid out John Cena

When it seemed like the show was over, the camera panned to the backstage area. Nick Aldis approached John Cena in the parking lot. He had an update about Brock Lesnar. However, Logan Paul ran in and knocked out Cena with One Lucky Punch. The show ended with the 17-time World Champion lying knocked out on the floor. They teased something here about Lesnar. It might be about an appearance in Paris.
