The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 29-member squad undergoing a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad. The camp is organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Army so the cricketers can attain their best fitness and prepare for upcoming tours.
The Kakul Training Camp commenced on March 26 and will conclude on April 08, just before Ramadan ends.
The training Camp is scheduled for the players to strategically prepare for the 5-T20I home series against New Zealand, 2-T20I away series against Ireland, 4-T20I away series against England, and the T20I World Cup 2024, which is starting from June 02 in the USA and West Indies.
The Pakistan Cricket Board stated, “The camp will focus on team building and aims to enhance the physical and mental strength of the players, ensuring they are in the best condition to face the challenges ahead. Under the guidance of experienced trainers and coaches, the players will undergo a comprehensive training regime tailored to elevate their fitness levels, agility, leadership and strategic thinking, and overall performance on the field.”
Players part of Kakul Training Camp
The players in the Training Camp in Kakul, Abbottabad, include the leading batters of Pak cricket, Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan. Talents of Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Usama Mir, Abrar Ahmed, and Saud Shakeel are also included in the training camp under the supervision of the Pak Army.
Haseebullah, Muhammad Haris, and Azam Khan are also included in the squad.
The PSL 2024 amazing finds Irfan Khan Niazi, Muhammad Ali, Mehran Mumtaz, and Usman Khan have also called up to training camp in PMA Kakul.
The veteran players Imad Wasim and Muhammad Amir will join the Pakistani cricketers in the camp after both players reconsider their retirement and are available for T20Is.
The all-rounders like Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Salman Ali Agha, and Muhammad
Nawaz are also named in the 29-member squad for camp.

Report for Days 01 and 02 of Kakul Camp 2024
The camp is going in full swing as day 02 ends today. As per reports, Azam Khan couldn’t complete the 2-kilometer run. Irfanullah Niazi emerged on the first day of his first day at Kakul Training Camp.
In the two-kilometre running test, Irfanullah Niazi took the lead, completing the distance in 6 minutes and 47 seconds to win the first day of Kakul Training Camp of the Pakistan Cricket team. Azam Khan couldn’t continue after 1.5 km and sat down on the way. He covered the 1.5 km distance in 20 minutes.
Among other players, Muhammad Rizwan completed the 2 km distance in 8 minutes and 26 seconds, whereas Muhammad Haris, Naseem Shah, Haseebullah, and Muhammad Waseem Jr. completed it in 8 minutes and 27 seconds.
Mehran Mumtaz completed in 8 minutes and 30 seconds, Shaheen Shah Afridi completed in 8 minutes and 37 seconds, Agha Salman in 9 minutes and 20 seconds, Muhammad Amir in 9 minutes and 30 seconds, Shadab Khan and Muhammad Nawaz in 9 minutes and 57 seconds.
Imad Wasim, Fakhar Zaman, and Harsi Ruaf didn’t participate in the test due to rehabilitation.
Iftikhar Ahmed missed the test due to fatigue, while Babar Azam and Asif Ali joined later.
Training Camp under Army Supervision 2016
Under the head coach Micky Auther, the Pakistan Cricket Team’s training camp was scheduled for the first time in collaboration with the Pakistan Army in 2016. The training camp was scheduled ahead of the test tour of England. The training camp with the Army transformed them into a unit with their best fitness. More than 30 players attended the camp.
The results after the camp were amazing. The team performed well and tied the series with 2-2 against England in 2016. According to the players, the camp helped them build team spirit and camaraderie and greatly improved chemistry. Players were at their peak physical fitness and mental health.
