Major Takeaways and Eliminations
- Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan delivered staggering performances, starting the match and lasting till the near end of the match.
- We witnessed the returns of the former world champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The Goddess returned with Lilly, the doll, but there was no sign of her involvement with the Wyatt Sicks.
- NXT was heavily involved in the match with multiple entrants like Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Jaida Parker, Stephanie Vaquer and Lash Legend.
- Jordynne Grace is officially a WWE Superstar. Michael Cole praised her and recalled her accolades on TNA, which still looked unreal to listen to on a WWE show.
- Most of the time, the match was dull if we talk about eliminations. Once, there were 15 superstars in the ring at a time. Most eliminations came back-to-back in the end.
- Morgan eliminated Bliss with a codebreaker after a little assist from Raquel.
- Jordynne Grace was eliminated by the NXT Women’s Champion, Giulia. This might be a sign of Grace going to NXT for a short stint before making it to the main roster.
- Nia Jax cleared the ring. She eliminated Trish Stratus. The Irresistible Force eliminated six superstars at a time who were hanging around the ropes. The names were Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, Naomi, Stephanie Vaquer, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. She eliminated Nikki Bella, too, later in the match.
- Charlotte, Nia and Roxanne were the final three. Flair eliminated both to win the Royal Rumble match for the second time in her illustrious career.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a fun match to kick off Royal Rumble 2025. Becky Lynch didn’t make her return which came as a little disappointment. The ring was crowded most of the time with 10+ active superstars. The Queen is back on top of WWE and she is definitely one of the biggest female stars of the industry. Charlotte Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble match as we predicted in the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Predictions.
DIY (c) vs Motor City Machine Guns – 2-out-of-3 Falls match for the WWE Tag Team Championships
MCMG sent DIY out of the ring, followed by stereo baseball slides and suicide dives. Ciampa shifted the momentum with a spike DDT on Sabin. Later on, Ciampa landed a knee strike on Shelly to win the first fall. Alex landed a flatline/DDT combo on Gargano and Ciampa. By distracting the referee, DIY delivered the Shatter Machine on Shelley for a nearfall.
Sabin delivered a tornado DDT on Gargano. The Machine Guns hit Gargano with the Skull and Bones to earn the second fall. DIY came stronger in the next sequence. Ciampa and Gargano delivered a superkick/Fairy Tale Ending combo on Sabin. Shelley saved the pinfall at two. Ciampa went on to deliver Project Ciampa for another nearfall. The crowd loved the sequence.
In the end, Street Profits invaded the match. Ford distracted the referee while Dawkins attacked Shelley with a crutch from behind. Ciampa and Gargano delivered Meet in the Middle for the victory. After the match, Profits attacked DIY with crutches, aiming to take the titles from the team that injured them in the first place.
Winners: DIY
Grades: B-
Analysis: It was top-notch tag team action from DIY and MCMG. The Street Profits have revived with a new character and it looks like they will get their hands on the tag titlles sooner than later.
Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens – Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
The Undisputed WWE Championship and WWE Winged Eagle Championship hung high above the ring as the match started. The crowd was into the match as the two engaged in a wild exchange. Owens slammed Rhodes onto the steel and whipped Rhodes with broken pieces of steel. The action went into the crowd, where Owens spilt a fan’s drink on Cody. KO delivered a front suplex to Cody onto the barricade.
After multiple attempts by both competitors to climb the ladder, Owens hit a powerbomb on Rhodes onto the step ladder. Owens delivered another brutal powerbomb before placing Rhodes under the bottom rung of the ladder. KO climbed, but Rhodes pressed the ladder upward. Owens went for a Package Piledriver, only for Rhodes to counter with a backbody drop onto a ladder.
From the second rope, Owens executed a fisherman’s buster onto the ladder bridge. WWE officials and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis rushed to check on both men. Sami Zayn appeared, checking on Owens and then on Rhodes. Owens tried a Stunner, but Cody countered with a Cross Rhodes. Outside the ring, Owens delivered a low blow and set up for a Package Piledriver on the table.
The American Nightmare countered with an Alabama Slam through the ladder bridge, crashing Kevin to the mat! Zayn and the officials rushed to check on Owens once more. With Owens down, Rhodes climbed the ladder and secured both championships.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Grades: A
Analysis: A brutal and devastating contest between The Prizefighter and The American Nightmare. Sami’s appearance made it rawer and more organic. Sami and KO will definitely talk about it in the coming weeks, but Rhodes should move on to other opponents now.

Major Takeaways and Eliminations
- The opening of the match was a generational moment between two of the greatest luchadors, Rey Mysterio and Penta. This could also be a hint of a future showdown, maybe at WrestleMania 41.
- iShowSpeed replaced Akira Tozawa when Carmelo took the latter out at the entrance. Triple H gave Speed the opportunity to be a participant. Speed sold a hell of a spear from the Intercontinental Champion, Bron Breakker.
- Jacob Fatu came out as the star of the match. He started his campaign by eliminating Andrade, Chad Gable and Rey Mysterio. Fatu eliminated Jimmy Uso before being eliminated by Braun Strowman. Jacob had brief confrontations with Bron Breakker and Roman Reigns.
- The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns arrived as the 16th entrant which was a surprise for many who expected him to come out on the final spots. Reigns eliminated The Miz, Sheamus and Joe Hendry, each one with a spear. Breakker got a moment when he speared Roman. However, the OTC eliminated the IC Champion.
- John Cena entered the 23rd spot for his last Royal Rumble. He began by eliminating Strowman and Balor.
- There was an all-star spot where Cena, Punk, Reigns and Rollins confronted each other.
- Jey Uso went for a superkick on McIntyre, who sidestepped, and Uso eliminated Zayn accidentally.
- AJ Styles returned with his old theme music. He eliminated LA Knight before being eliminated by Logan Paul.
- Reigns and Rollins fought near the ropes, where Punk dumped them both and eliminated them. Punk’s celebration was cut short by Logan Paul, who eliminated the Second City Saint. At ringside, Rollins lost his cool and stomped Reigns twice. Seth also attacked Punk and aimed for Paul Heyman before being escorted out by security.
- John Cena, Logan Paul and Jey Uso were the top three. Cena lifted both Uso and Paul for the AA. Uso escaped and superkicked Logan, allowing Cena to eliminate Paul. Cena and Uso were the final two. On the apron, Cena lifted Uso on his shoulders. Uso stepped into the ring and dumped Cena to win the Royal Rumble.
Winner: Jey Uso
Grades: B+
Analysis: Amazing. Shocking. Wow! Jey Uso is your 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner. When nobody expected, the YEET Man has excelled. WWE turned the tide greatly while booking the match. Rollins, Reigns, and Punk were the favourites to win, but they weren’t even in the top three. This has completely shifted the WrestleMania speculations.
Congratulations to Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair as we culminate the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Results. What’s your take on the show?
