SummerSlam is around the corner, and the go-home episode of Monday Night RAW aired on July 28. The show emanated from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The show featured stars like Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Jey Uso. There was a huge 8-woman tag team and a 6-pack mixed match battle. It was a stacked show. Let’s delve into the details of WWE RAW July 28 Results.
A Tribute to The Immortal

The show started with a touching tribute to Terry Bolea, aka Hulk Hogan. Eric Bischoff was there, and Hogan’s son two. Triple H delivered a short speech on the importance of the Hulkster in the wrestling business. He said that Hogan was a friend to him and a hero to millions of people worldwide. There was a 10-bell salute, and the crowd chanted Hogan’s name.
Jey Uso and Paul Heyman exchanged words

Jey Uso made his electric entrance to the ring. He went for the YEET a second time on fans’ request but was cut off by Paul Heyman. The crowd loudly booed Heyman and didn’t let him do his traditional lines at the start. The Wise Man said he’s there to speak from the heart, man-to-man, from one former Bloodline member to another. He noted that Jeey Uso will battle Bronson Reed in the main event of RAW tonight. Heyman wanted to go in the ring but stopped after seeing the look in Jey’s eyes.
Heyman stated that Uso should not trust family, as they always let you down. Heyman said that Uso’s mother lied to him as the childhood about Santa Claus. Uso’s father lied to him, too. He said that Reigns didn’t pick Jey as the next Tribal Chief, which ruined the Bloodline. Paul said Roman never wanted Uos to be as big and rich as himself. Heyman said that he loves Uso as family, and that’s why he said all this.
Jey Uso, who was pacing in the ring, started to speak. He said that he’s there because of family. The family is in his veins, and he will always be there for them. Uso said that he proved everyone wrong by winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Jey asked Heyman about the whereabouts of his family.
Uso said that Heyman’s boys screwed him out of the World Heavyweight Title, and The Wise Man himself screwed Reigns at WrestleMania 41 Saturday. He said that whatever happens at SummerSlam will be on Heyman. Uso said YEET and dropped the mic. Uso danced and celebrated with the crowd again.
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a brilliant promo segment to kick off the show. Paul Heyman is unbeatable on the mic, and Uso delivered compelling work, too. We got to know our main event of the night. No involvement from Heyman’s faction made it better because sometimes the promo work does more than the action itself.
AJ Styles and The Kabuki Warriors vs The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez)

Dominik landed a cheap shot on Styles, escaped and tagged Rodriguez in. Frustrated, Styles exited as Asuka stepped in. Asuka hit a dropkick before Kairi came in, and they landed stereo drop kicks to take Raquel out. Rodriguez delivered a fallaway slam, sending Perez into Sane for a near fall. Perez suffered a head-scissor takedown and a corner dropkick. Mysterio pulled Perez out of harm’s way on a sliding forearm attempt by Kairi.
Rodriguez dominated Sane with a big boot, a clothesline and a slingshot suplex. Perez followed with a double jump springboard moonsault for a two-count as Asuka saved the match. Sane hit a spear, and Rodriguez and Mysterio pulled Styles and Asuka before Kairi could tag someone. Dominik was forced to enter after an accidental tag, and Styles came unglued. The Phenomenal One landed his trademark strikes and a Ushigoroshi.
Perez stood in the way, protecting Dominik as Styles wanted to deliver the Phenomenal Forearm. Styles hit a Pele Kick on Dom, and Asuka settled Roxanne at the ringside with a dropkick. Styles catapulted Kairi to the outside, leading to an InSane Elbow on Rodriguez. Styles pinned the IC Champion after a Phenomenal Forearm for the win.
Winners: AJ Styles and The Kabuki Warriors
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a very entertaining mixed tag team match. It was to pour eyeballs onto the Intercontinental Championship match between AJ Styles and Dominik Mysterio. It did that and further established Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez as a team.
Sheamus vs Grayson Waller

Backstage, Waller challenged Sheamus to a match, thinking the New Day would be on his side. However, New Day was not with Grayson when Sheamus accepted the challenge. In the match, Sheamus hit a clothesline, but Waller responded with a rolling thunder flatliner. Sheamus delivered a powerslam. Grayson slapped Sheamus and delivered a baseball slide. The Celtic Warrior returned the favor with a slap of his own and delivered a rolling senton at the ringside.
Waller hit a Satellite DDT on the apron. Sheamus countered a move from Waller with a Kneecap and delivered the 10 Beats of Bodhran. Rusev came in to attack Sheamus, who noticed and delivered a clothesline to wipe off Rusev. Grayson tried to steal the victory with a roll-up, but Sheamus kicked out. Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick for the win. Rusev attacked Sheamus with a Shillelagh and applied the Accolade. The officials somehow pulled Rusev off Sheamus.
Winner: Grayson Waller
Grades: B-
Analysis: It was a short match, but good as always by Sheamus. The story will likely revolve around a stipulation match between Rusev and Sheamus in the coming weeks. They deserve a spot on the SummerSlam card as they have the potential to steal the Biggest Party of Summer with a banger.
Lyra Valkyria has the momentum

Lyra Valkyria made her entrance and greeted the audience. Lyra looked down at her shoes and called them “Becky Stompers”. She said she’d be a two-time women’s IC Champion next week. However, she must beat Becky at SummerSlam, as this is her last opportunity. Valkyria said that Lynch stole the win from her the previous time. This time, she would play like her.
Becky won’t be able to break the rules this time as there will be no rules. Valkyria said that she knows Becky’s capability, but Becky doesn’t know hers. The Man, Becky Lynch, made her entrance. Lyra waited for her to come to the ringside before delivering the Wrecking Ball Dropkick. Valkyria beat Lynch with a kendo stick, and the Champion retreated.
Grades: C
Analysis: It was not a very good promo by Lyra, as she had done better than this in the past few weeks. She fumbled with the mic early in the segment. The attack included a kendo stick, which is good to highlight the no disqualifications stipulation of the match.
Backstage
Bayley was backstage, where Jackie Redmond interviewed her. Bayley said that she’s at a loss for words. She missed WrestleMania, and now she would miss SummerSlam. Bayley looked completely dejected as she left. It was likely a character change hint for The Role Model. She may make her present felt at SummerSlam by getting involved in the women’s IC Title match.
8-Woman Tag Team Match

Iyo Sky, Nikki Bella, Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer versus Naomi, Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre, and Piper Niven. The Women’s World Champion Naomi kicked things off against Rhea Ripley. The Eradicator delivered clotheslines and a face slam. Nikki and Chelsea tagged in, and Bella hit a facebuster and a spinebuster. Green landed a kick, and Alba Fyre got the tag. Fyre landed a superkick, and a quick tag to Piper Niven allowed her to perform an elbow drop for a near fall.
Back from the break, Bella hit a snapmare, but Naomi responded with a bulldog into the middle turnbuckle. Naomi mocked Bella until she answered back with a springboard kick. Iyo Sky entered to meet Alba Fyre. Sky landed a dropkick and countered a German suplex into a roll-through double stomp. Chelsea blindly tagged in as Iyo landed a dropkick on Alba. Green came in with a dropkick of her own for a two-count.
Niven and Naomi switched turns in assaulting Sky. Naomi delivered a DDT on the apron and a leg drop in the ring for a near fall. They executed a triple-team assault: Chelsea hit a Codebreaker, held Sky in place for Niven’s senton splash, and Fyre landed a Swanton Bomb. Bella and Vaquer rushed in to break the count. The Secret Hervice dealt with Bella and Vaquer. Rhea stepped into the ring, only for a Boss Man Slam from Piper. Naomi then slammed Ripley into the steel steps at the ringside.
Back inside, Fyre connected with a superkick, but The Genius of the Sky hit a flapjack. Vaquer took out Green, landed a springboard crossbody and a superkick to Fyre, and nailed Niven with Eat Defeat. Vaquer knocked out Naomi with a headbutt and delivered a running series of meteoras to Fyre, Niven, and Green. Vaquer then delivered a back suplex and The Devil’s Kiss to Green.
Bella delivered a Bella Buster to Fyre. Sky followed with a springboard missile dropkick to Naomi. Piper returned with a double clothesline to Sky and Bella. Ripley dropped Niven with a Riptide. Vaquer hit the SVB on Green for the win!
Winners: Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Nikki Bella, and Stephanie Vaquer
Grades: B-
Analysis: It was a stellar 8-woman tag match. The crowd was into the action from the get-go. The Secret Hervice got to shine as well which was good. Ultimately, it was all Stephanie Vaquer’s showdown as she dismantled each of her opponents. Overall, it was a fun match.
Gunther and CM Punk Face-to-Face

The World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, arrived in the ring. Gunther boasted his promo skills as he said that he made the Best in the World shut up. The Ring General noted that it was his clean win over Punk. The Voice of the Voiceless became speechless. CM Punk arrived in the ring to a thunderous ovation from the crowd as he confronted Gunther. Punk told him that he needs to win the world title just like the lungs need air and the heart pumps blood, and he gave some other examples.
Punk said he’d win the World Heavyweight Championship for those who rooted for him for ten years. Punk said he’s the Best in the World because he had a list of legends he faced to back it up. Gunther can only dream of being in the ring with them. Gunther wanted to speak, but Punk shut him up. Punk said that he’d teach Gunther a hard lesson at SummerSlam. Gunther would have to say he shared the ring with the Best in the World.
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a compelling promo from both stars. Punk is untouchable on the mic, and Gunther has vastly improved in the past year or so. The Ring General can stand against the very best.
Jey Uso vs Bronson Reed

It was “Main Event” Jey Uso against “Big” Bronson Reed in the main event of Monday Night RAW. Uso came unglued in the match and delivered ten punches in the corner, followed by a running hip attack. Reed bounced back with a senton splash and a World’s Strongest Slam. After the break, Uso avoided a senton and landed a superkick, followed by a suicide dive. Suddenly, Bron Breakker speared Uso, and the match ended in a disqualification.
Roman Reigns came out for the save. He laid out Bronson and Bron and picked up Jey. Uso superkicked Bron while Roman delivered a Superman Punch to Reed. At ringside, Breakker speared Roman while Reed avalanched Uso. Breakker speared Uso, and Reed followed it up with a Tsunami. Reigns suffered a Tsunami too. At ringside, Breakker speared both Reigns and Uso through the barricade. Reed took Roman’s sneakers. The crowd was stunned as Reed, Heyman, and Breakker stood over the lifeless Reigns and Uso.
Winner: Jey Uso via DQ.
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a convincing beatdown in the main event of the night. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed brutally assaulted Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. This made The Oracle shine even in the absence of Seth Rollins.
Overall, it was a marvelous show before SummerSlam. Did you enjoy WWE RAW July 28 Results?
