WWE will begin its Friday Night journey with a special SmackDown episode named New Year’s Revolution. There are plenty of events planned for the show that make it a must-watch. A few surprises are waiting for the fans similar to the ones we predicted in WWE Raw Day 1 Preview. Let’s dive into the WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution Preview. There will be Title bouts and number 1 contender matches to look for.
Iyo Sky vs Michin
Michin will challenge Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship. Michin pinned Sky in the Holiday Havoc Match a couple of weeks ago, which earned her the title opportunity. It will be a fun way to kick off WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution Preview with Michin and Sky. The Genius of the Sky will retain her women’s title because the reign won’t end on a weekly SmackDown show.
Expect Michin to deliver a powerful performance but Damage CTRL will find a way for Iyo to retain the championship. There will be a lot of interference from Damage CTRL, Bianca Belair, Shotzi, and from returning Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
US Title Tournament Finals
Logan Paul will be back this Friday to witness the final of the US Title. Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar will battle for the number one contenders. Kevin Owens is the favorite to win. However, you cannot count Escobar out. Recently, Humberto Carillo and Angel Garza joined Escobar. They can be problematic for Owens. However, this segment will be the one of the highlights of the day as per our WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution Preview.
Mega Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles will compete in a triple threat match, and the winner will face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble. Randy is the favorite to win this match. He returned to WWE back on Survivor Series. Fans have been behind The Viper to take out the Bloodline.
Talking about LA Knight, he faced Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. The Megastar failed to takedown Reigns, but he has consistently talked about The Tribal Chief. AJ Styles has a match pending against Roman for months. He has returned with a new dark character that needs a victory. You cannot rule out the possibility of a fatal four at Royal Rumble which is our spoiler for our WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution Preview.
Roman Reigns Returns
The return to Tribal Chief will be the best thing to happen on the show as per our WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution Preview. WWE has officially advertised Roman Reigns for the New Year’s Revolution special SmackDown show. The Tribal Chief will look closely at the above-mentioned triple threat match to find out his next opponent. Maybe Reigns will take out the winner after the match to deliver a statement. The possibility of a fatal 4-way becomes much more prominent if The Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa interfere in the triple threat match between Styles, Orton, and Knight.
Interestingly, The Rock appeared on Monday Night Raw, where he took out Jinder Mahal. On top of that, he mentioned sitting at the Head of the Table. This statement broke the Internet, and the possibility of a dream Roman Reigns vs. The Rock match came to life. This mega match can happen either at WrestleMania or the Elimination Chamber. It will be fun to see if Reigns takes a shot or two at The People’s Champion.
Few Surprises
Andrade was done with AEW at World’s End ppv. He is a free agent so far in 2024. There are plenty of rumors of Andrade returning to WWE. There were chances of him appearing at WWE Raw, which didn’t happen. Hence, SmackDown is the next WWE show now. Also, It is the Royal Rumble season. You can expect a superstar or two to declare themselves for the 30-men Royal Rumble matches.
