WWE had a tremendous 2023, and they will kick off 2024 in a mega way. WWE will present the special Day 1 episode of Monday Night Raw on January 1, 2024. The show is a mini-PLE so A WWE Raw Day 1 Preview will have much importance. The card is stacked, and WWE hypes numerous things for the show. Let’s discuss all the matches and surprises waiting for us on the Day 1edition of WWE RAW.
Rhea Ripley vs Ivy Nile
The women will surely highlight the WWE Raw Day 1 Preview. Rhea Ripley will defend her Women’s World Title against Ivy Nile. Ripley will retain because she has been a dominant champion, and a run like that will not end on a weekly show. Also, WWE hasn’t built Ivy Nile as a major threat. Expect a dominant win yet again from Ripley.
Becky Lynch vs Nia Jax
Becky Lynch will get her hands on Nia Jax for the first time since the latter has been trash-talking about The Man. Jax has been crediting herself for Becky’s successful career. Becky and Nia had a long history where Nia broke Becky’s nose that resulted in emergence of ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. If WWE is ending this feud here, then surely Lynch will win. Jax has a chance of winning only if WWE extends this storyline. This will be a Grudge match, and expect Nia to try to recreate that moment where she broke Lynch’s nose.
Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark vs Tegan Nox and Natalya
The third confirmed women match to discuss on WWE Raw Day 1 Preview. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter won the Women’s Tag Titles from Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. For their first defense, WWE will hold a number 1 contender match with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark battling Tegan Nox and Natalya. Fans couldn’t care less about this match. Baszler and Stark will be our picks to win this match.
Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns headlined multiple Main Events of WWE PLE’s in 2023. So, Rollins will start this year again with a freshly turned heel Drew McIntyre. Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre. Both have great chemistry, and a classic match seems on the way. In talking about this match’s result, Seth Rollins has been on a great run as the champion so far.
WWE has teased a future showdown between Seth Rollins and CM Punk in a potential WrestleMania Main Event. Rollins losing the title here will be a major mistake. Both Punk and Rollins have expressed their desires to main-eventing WrestleMania. A Title added to that match will increase the stakes and anticipation for this match. Hence, all strings lead to Seth Rollins successfully retaining the title.
However, on the other hand, Drew McIntyre’s character work is flawless. He’s been losing major matches recently, and another loss will surely affect The Scottish Warrior. It will be interesting to see how Triple H will book the finish of this match to protect McIntyre as much as it could be.
Surprise Returns
Last Year, We saw a surprise CM Punk return. Suddenly, on Twitter (X), the rumors of a former champion returning on Day 1 of WWE Raw started circulating a couple of days ago. Interestingly, Triple H took to his handle to confirm these rumors almost immediately. The Game told fans to tune in to the show. After this, several speculations were made on the surprising name.

Batista
Batista is a major name to return to WWE. It is highly speculated that Batista will announce his induction into the Hall Of Fame Class of 2024.
Brock Lesnar
It might be the best moment of WWE Raw Day 1 Preview. Brock Lesnar hasn’t appeared in WWE since SummerSlam. Lesnar might be returning on Day 1 edition of WWE Raw. The simplest we can predict is The Beast declaring himself for the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has been rumored to be in talks with WWE for the past few days. Banks also teased a WWE return with several stories on her Instagram account. She can return and announce herself for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
AJ Lee
The return of CM Punk has opened doors for a possible return of AJ Lee. This can be a surprise that we brought you from our WWE Raw Day 1 Preview. AJ posted a picture of her ring gear on her Instagram story.
Big E
Big E has been out with an injury for a long time. A surprise return will be perfect for the former World Champion.
Andrade
Andrade was reportedly done with AEW after Worlds End PPV and is currently a free agent. The former US Champion is expected to make a WWE return on the Day 1 episode of WWE Raw, which can happen sooner than later.
