WWE weekly shows have been quite interesting after the Survivor Series premium live event. There is a lot of hype surrounding this week’s SmackDown as it will be a special Tribute to The Troops edition, and WWE has officially declared CM Punk’s return. Let’s predict what can happen on the night in our WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview.
CM Punk will be Back on Blue Brand
CM Punk will return to the blue brand after almost a decade. CM returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023. His last appearance came on the road to Royal Rumble 2014. He will likely open the show. WWE can book The Best in the World on the show in some exciting ways. One simple way will be to have him deliver a nice greeting promo for the crowd. If WWE wanted to push limits, Punk could have an altercation with some new faces, especially Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. The last out-of-the-way possibility will be an interaction between Punk and Paul Heyman which is more exciting for us on our WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview.
US Title Tournament
Logan Paul returned to SmackDown last week and announced a tournament to determine the #1 contender for his US Title. There will be 8 participants, and the tournament will start from this week’s SmackDown. One surprise competitor from NXT will be involved in the tournament. There is a high chance that this name comes out to be Tyler Bate. This will be an exciting development to discuss in our WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview. Expect the Social Media Megastar to be at ringside or at the match commentary table.
Bobby Lashley vs Karrion Kross
Bobby Lashley will face Karrion Kross in the tournament. These two names are the ones who need a win. Lashley cannot lose as he journeys to establish his faction as a dominant group. On the other hand, Kross will be returning to action after a long hiatus. He seemingly has the final chance to improve his deteriorated character. Lashley will be our prediction to win the match and advance in the tournament.
Santos Escobar vs Dragon Lee
Santos Escobar will face Dragon Lee in the tournament. Escobar has been excellent so far in his heel run. He seems to be the perfect winner in this match. He may lose if his former LWO members try to seek revenge on him. In our WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview, we predict this match will be the best regarding in-ring action.
Damage CTRL Drama and Charlotte Flair vs Asuka
Charlotte Flair will take on Asuka in a singles match. There is less interest in who will win. It is intriguing how the finish will come. Damage CTRL lost in the WarGames regardless of the joining of Asuka and Kairi Sane. They all have problems with Bayley. This drama will continue this week, too, with Bayley’s exit from the faction getting more and more confirmed.
Randy Orton against The Bloodline
Randy Orton exclusively signed up for SmackDown last week after making a Return to WWE as we Predicted. He has unfinished business with The Bloodline, which is exciting to discuss in our WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview. LA Knight can join him, too, in his quest against Solo and Jimmy. A tag team match can be set for the main event, with Randy and Knight teaming against Sikoa and Jimmy.
AJ Styles’ Return
AJ Styles has been out of WWE TV since September. This time, the rumors are stronger. He has been rumored to return several times in the past few weeks. First, he was rumored to face Roman Reigns but was replaced by LA Knight. AJ has yet to face Roman Reigns in his historic Title reign. The possibility is always there, and The Bloodline took out AJ Styles on his last outing on Friday Night SmackDown. He could come back alongside Gallows and Anderson to balance the numbers game with The Bloodline.
The best thing on WWE SmackDown December 08 Preview will be AJ Styles declaring himself for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match 2024. He debuted in the Royal Rumble. Hence, a story is there, too. WWE must not include him in any bloodline or Randy Orton set up to haunt his and Orton’s momentum. AJ can be more useful in the WrestleMania season right after Royal Rumble.
