WWE presented another edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, this time from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The show featured John Cena’s battle with R-Truth. CM Punk and Sami Zayn looked to stop the dominance of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman). Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest sought their issues in a Steel Cage match. Also, Jey Uso defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul. Let’s take a look at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results.
CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker

The event kicked off with the tag team action. The action began before the bell rang as Sami and CM Punk sent Rollins and Breakker to the outside. As the match officially began, Breakker sent Zayn outside and launched himself from the apron for a clothesline, sending Zayn over to the commentary desk. Rollins and Breakker used cheap moves when the referee was distracted. Bron delivered a Vertical Suplex for a two-count.
Zayn finally sent Breakker with a backdrop to the outside and tagged Punk in. Punk charged on Rollins and delivered a jumping calf kick followed by a neckbreaker. Rollins escaped the GTS but suffered a Code Red instead for a near fall. Punk landed the bulldog and a diving elbow drop for another near fall. Punk attempted GTS again but Breakker got involved. The distraction allowed Seth to hit a Pedigree. Sami saved the match at two-count.
Sami took out Bron with a springboard moonsault block to the outside. Zayn landed a tornado DDT and went for the Helluva Kick. Seth caught Sami’s leg. Punk hit a plancha on Rollins. Zayn delivered an exploder suplex in the corner and prepared for Helluva Kick again. Paul Heyman grabbed his foot this time. The referee was busy with Heyman when Bronson Reed out of nowhere crashed into Punk through the barricade. In the ring, Breakker speared Zayn for the victory.
Reed entered the ring and Rollins embraced him. Punk came back in the ring and Reed landed a senton. Rollins and Breakker held Punk in the right position and Reed delivered a Tsunami. They celebrated over Punk’s lifeless body.
Winners: Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker
Grades: A
Analysis: Saturday Night’s Main Event started with a bang. It was a great match with a shocking finish. Bronson Reed has joined Rollins’ faction. He feuded with Rollins before he was injured back at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. The Visionary must have pulled some strings to have the big man on his side. The landscape has completely changed for the future. Punk and Zayn are outnumbered, and Roman Reigns is probably coming back soon to even the odds.
Zelina Vega (c) vs Chelsea Green – WWE Women’s United States Championship

Vega started with a head-scissors takeover. Green caught Vega on the apron and landed a powerbomb on the floor. Green dominated for a while with chin locks and submission holds. The champion fought back with a jawbreaker to the challenger. Zelina delivered a couple of clotheslines and a back suplex.
Vega landed a Meteora and countered the Un-Pretty-Her with a backstabber. Vega hit the 619 which was awful, and it caused Chelsea to bleed from the nose. The distraction from Secret Hervice couldn’t do much and Vega delivered a Code Red from the middle rope for the win.
Winner: Zelina Vega
Grades: C
Analysis: It was a short and dull match. The ending was screwed too courtesy of a worse-looking 619 by the champion. WWE have failed considerably to establish the Women’s US Title, and some big names are necessary to get in the mix.
John Cena vs R-Truth

John Cena made his entrance in an orange t-shirt. R-Truth came out to Cena’s music wearing Cena’s gear. Cena delivered his trademark shoulder tackles and the back suplex powerbomb before hitting the 5-Knuckle Shuffle. Truth escaped the Attitude Adjustment and started the shoulder tackles. Truth delivered the 5-Knuckle Shuffle and AA for a near fall. Truth quickly caught Cena in the STF submission hold. Cena grabbed the bottom rope and escaped to the ringside.
Cena grabbed the Undisputed WWE Championship belt and came to the ring. He hesitated on hitting Truth and handed over the title to the referee. As the referee was dealing with the championship belt, Cena shook Truth’s hand and delivered a low blow. Cena followed it with the Attitude Adjustment for the win. After the match, Cena gave a title belt shot to Truth’s skull before leaving.
Winner: John Cena
Grades: B
Analysis: There was really nothing in the match except the flurry of moves Truth pulled in the beginning. The ending was quite expected. WWE had the opportunity for multiple creative things here, but they failed to deliver literally anything. Leave the wrestling quality, they could have had better storytelling here at least. This is going to bother the fans who already say that Cena’s heel turn is a failure.
Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest – Steel Cage Match

McIntyre attacked Priest during the entrance. McIntyre destroyed him at ringside before getting him in. Drew entered the cage with two steel chairs and closed the door. Priest delivered a flat liner and a superkick. McIntyre tried to escape through the cage door, but Priest caught him with a Claymore Kick followed by a South of Heaven chokeslam for a near fall. Priest attempted to escape from the top, but McIntyre caught him and delivered a superplex followed by a Claymore for a two-count.
McIntyre this time stole from Priest’s arsenal as he delivered a South of Heaven chokeslam for another near fall. McIntyre was frustrated and he smashed the steel chair onto Priest’s back multiple times. Priest fought back with a South of Heaven chokeslam. Priest settled McIntyre’s head onto the chair and sandwiched it with the other steel chair, delivering a con-chair-to. Priest escaped through the door as McIntyre was motionless. The doctors brought the stretcher, but McIntyre refused any help and left on his own.
Winner: Damian Priest
Grades: B+
Analysis: It was a solid steel cage match. This rivalry has exceeded all expectations. Priest needed to win here to balance the feud. The good thing is that the story looks far from over and another wild stipulation is probably loading soon.
Jey Uso (c) vs Logan Paul – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The main event of the night was the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match where the champion Jey Uso defended against Logan Paul. The Maverick delivered a blockbuster and a plancha to Jey at ringside. Uso fought back with a step-up enzuigiri and a running hip attack. Logan got his knees up on the Uso splash. Paul went for a Lionsault and Jey got the knees up this time. Uso landed a Pop-up Samoan Drop for a near fall.
Uso countered a Buckshot Lariat with a superkick. Paul had taken the turnbuckle pad off and Uso crashed into it while attempting a spear. Paul landed the One Lucky Punch for a near fall. Jey landed a superkick and a Uso Splash. John Cena appeared out of nowhere and pulled out the referee.
Cena ambushed Jey in the ring until Cody Rhodes returned . The American Nightmare delivered a Cross Rhodes to Cena. Logan attempted to use the brass knuckles, but Cody avoided it. Uso delivered a Spear and a Uso Splash for the win. Rhodes grabbed a microphone and told Cena that he had ruined enough. Rhodes said that Cena has Logan while he has Jey on his side. Cody challenged Cena to a tag match at WWE Money in the Bank.
Winner: Jey Uso
Grades: A
Analysis: It was a wild ending to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cody Rhodes is back. We haven’t seen him since he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 41 Sunday. Overall, the match was fun between Jey Uso and Logan Paul. Now, Cody Rhodes has aligned with Jey Uso and they’ll battle John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank. It was great to see Cody back. Also, Jey Uso and Logan Paul will benefit from working with two of the greatest superstars.
Takeaways from WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results

Overall, it was a fun show with loads of action and entertainment. Big Bronson Reed has made a significant and impactful return and his alliance with Rollins, Breakker, and Heyman can bring benefit to both the parties. It will be beneficial for Reed’s singles career as well as he never reached the heights in WWE so far despite the potential. Other than that, R-Truth was unable to teach a lesson to his childhood hero, John Cena.
Cody Rhodes returned in one of the top WWE returns recently. We heard rumors of WWE planning a John Cena vs Logan Paul match in this Farewell Tour. The fans were against the idea, and it looks like WWE heard them. However, Logan will share the screen with Cena in a capacity that is good. What are your takes on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results? Which match did you enjoy the most?
