Nikki Bella made a return to the red brand. R-Truth spoke to the fans for the first time since returning at WWE Money in the Bank 2025. John Cena met former Rivals

The show opened with the Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena. The 17-time world champ made his entrance with the crowd chants of “Let’s Go Cena, Cena Sucks”, echoing through the arena. Cena said that the truth is a lie. He called R-Truth a comedy character who pretended to be John Cena to get over. John told the crowd that they wasted their energy by opening their mouths in Truth’s support. Cena said that a year later from now, the crowd won’t care for Truth.
Cena said he has 19 dates left in his retirement tour. He said that he beat every crowd favorite like Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and R-Truth. Cena wanted real competition now. CM Punk arrived to a thunderous crowd reaction. He told Cena to get comfortable because he had a lot of things to talk about. Punk said that he’s there to defend people as Cena wanted to ruin the thing that made him what he is today.
Punk replied to Cena’s line of not getting real competition by saying that he got the best in Cody Rhodes. Punk accused Cena of using shortcuts to win. Punk said that the title made Cena a monster, just as it did to him in 2012. Punk said that The Final Boss is not the boss, the fans are the bosses. They wanted R-Truth, they got him back. Punk vowed to take the title from Cena, aiming to dismantle thoughts of power and control of guys like Cena and Seth Rollins.
Punk said that he’d take the title, and Cena would pass the rest of his retirement tour by apologizing to the fans of the man he had become. Punk told Cena to pick any date for their match out of his 18 remaining dates. He was willing to do it right there, but Cena refused him and chose Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia happening later this month. Seth Rollins and company appeared on the stage. Rollins raised the MITB briefcase as a warning sign.

Grades: B
Analysis: It was a fun match. AJ Styles finally got a victory under his name. It looks like they have something planned with him and Chad Gable maybe in the Summer. Gable never wins while El Grande Americano has a good winning portfolio. Pat McAfee was on leave and Wade Barrett replaced him. It was fun listening to the banter between Michael Cole and Wade Barrett surrounding the El Grande Americano and Chad Gable story.

Grades: B-
Analysis: It was a decent fatal 4-way encounter. Perez and Morgan worked on their own story. They actually worked together mostly. Rhea Ripley was good with her performance. Kairi Sane was a little less smooth with her moves and looked awkward at times. Roxanne Perez has advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament. Liv’s reaction to this will be interesting to see.

Becky said that they should celebrate her victory at WWE Money In The Bank 2025. Lynch recalled her accolades. She said that the title has got the opportunity to be in Big Time. Lynch said that she should be celebrating with her family but Valkyria ruined it.
Lynch called Valkryia a crazy bird lady and invited her to raise her arm tonight in the right way. Lyra walked down the ramp in fury. Lynch was waiting for her but got blindsided by Bayley. Lynch tried to escape but Valkyria sent her back in. Bayley attempted the Rose Plant, but Lynch escaped through the crowd. Bayley was fired up.
Grades: B
Analysis: It was a good segment leading to the return of Bayley. Becky took her out for a spot at WrestleMania 41 Sunday. It looks like we will be getting Becky vs Bayley sooner than expected. Maybe, Lynch finds a partner to go against Lyra and Bayley in a tag match. Anyway, the Women’s IC Title scene is packed for the coming months.

He called himself Ron Killings and told everyone to put some respect on his name before leaving.

The Ring General followed it with a Powerbomb for a two-count. Gunther smirked and crashed Uso with a Spear for another near fall.
Gunther hit multiple lariats. Uso fought back with another Spear. Gunther avoided the splash and applied a sleeper hold. Uso fought for a while as the crowd was YEETING. However, the champion faded, and the referee called for the bell. We have got a new World Heavyweight Champion in Gunther.
Winner: Gunther
Grades: A
Analysis: Wow! The world title has changed hands on a weekly show after four years. Gunther is the new World Heavyweight Champion. Jey Uso gave a good fight but the beatings in the last week got the best of him. Gunther’s last run was flat, and WWE should learn from their mistake of booking him. We hope that this isn’t Uso’s last main event run. He is a crowd favorite, and we should see him lurking in the world title picture at least for some time.
That’s it from an excellent episode of Monday Night Raw. What are your thoughts on WWE RAW June 09 Results?
