Triple H Kicks Off Raw
The January 6 edition of WWE Raw kicks off with a dramatic flying pan shot over the red carpet, setting the tone for the debut of the “Netflix era.” Commentary is hyped, and we’re immediately thrust into the glitz of talent making their way through the arena, a standard but always effective way to introduce the show.
The usual montage of superstars arriving is followed by a strange but fascinating Triple H voiceover playing over a video cube hanging above the ring. Hunter talks about the history of pro wrestling—from fairgrounds to TV—but the moment takes a weird turn as we realize the video is focused on an artist painting a portrait of Hulk Hogan (yes, that Hulk Hogan) before He dives deep into inside wrestling terms like heels, faces, shoots, and works. It’s one part nostalgic history lesson, one part cringe-worthy wrestling jargon overload, and honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about it.
As the video ends, Triple H emerges in the ring, soaking in the crowd’s energy. He pumps them up, talking about how loud they are, how many people are watching, and asking the simple question: “Are you ready?” And with that, he ushers in the new era, the Netflix era of Monday Night Raw, as Pyro bursts all around him. This wasn’t just the usual Raw intro—it was a declaration of something bigger, something more theatrical, and as He promises, a version of WWE that blends entertainment with wrestling in a new way. The crowd goes wild, and it feels like we’re standing at the threshold of something different, something explosive.

Triple H brought all the energy to start the show. He warms up the crows with his usual tactics before making a way for the Final Boss to return.
The Electrifying Return of The Rock
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson walks to the ring, his custom title belt over his shoulder. He takes his time, soaking in the crowd. Honestly, I’m wondering if we’ll ever get to the next segment. When he finally grabs the mic, he starts by talking about his early days. He says that when he was a “little pebble,” the only way to watch WWE was live or on Saturday mornings. But now, things are different. Now, you’re watching on Netflix. He stumbles on his words, claiming WWE is back on Netflix. He quickly corrects himself and adds, “Finally, The Rock has come back to Los Angeles!”
Rock continues by giving props to Netflix, saying they’re the perfect partner for WWE. He even jokingly threatens Netflix executives. If the feed cuts out, he’ll go “Squid Game” on them. He then shifts gears and shows respect to Cody Rhodes, who has been carrying the company. He thanks Cody for everything and tells him to say hi to Mama Rhodes. Rock also acknowledges his cousin, Roman Reigns. He calls Roman the Tribal Chief, the Original Tribal Chief. He talks about Tribal Combat and says he’ll be watching. He finishes with his classic “If you smell…” and exits the ring.
The crowd is buzzing as the next segment is set to begin. We cut to a break as Tribal Combat entrances are ready to go. The energy is building, and the show’s just getting started.

The promo work from Rock is always on point. The Rock left WWE as a heel and returned totally as a face. He pitched two ideas for WrestleMania, one of which was if he would be ready for the fight on the show of shows. He thanked Cody and said Hello to Mama Rhodes. The Rock also acknowledged Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief. So, either one of them can be his opponent on WrestleMania.
Tribal Combat Match
The match begins with a collar and elbow tie-up. Both men struggle around the ring, locked in a fight. Reigns slings Solo Sikoa hard out of the ring. They continue to battle on the floor, each trying to gain the upper hand. Sikoa rams Roman’s head into the post. Roman’s face bounces off the announce desk, but he fires back with corner lariats.
Solo dodges an elbow, eats a boot, and is sent to the floor. Roman follows and takes a Spinning Solo to the announce desk. Sikoa grabs a monitor and smacks Roman in the head with it. Solo then grabs the steel steps, hitting Roman hard. He sits down while Reigns writhes in pain, and we go to break.
Back from the break, Sikoa is using a steel chair on Roman. He tries to horse-collar him with it, setting up for the Ode to Rikishi. Roman dodges and fights back. Solo hits a low blow, followed by a Spinning Solo into the chair, but Roman kicks out! Sikoa heads outside for more weapons, but Roman cuts him off with a dropkick. He shoves a table into the ring.
Solo returns with a kendo stick and attacks Roman. Sikoa chokes Roman in the corner, saying he tried everything to prove his love for Reigns. Roman powers up and delivers a powerbomb through the table! But just as the count begins, Tama Tonga pulls referee Chad Patton out of the ring to stop it.
Suddenly, “Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu enters the ring and clobbers Roman, hitting a moonsault. Sikoa delivers a Samoan Spike, but Roman kicks out! Sikoa then hits Patton with the Samoan Spike and tosses him out. Fatu and Tonga hold Roman up for the attack, but Sami Zayn and “Big” Jim Uso make the save!
Zayn and Uso fend off Tonga and Fatu, hitting a superkick to Solo. Zayn follows up with a Helluva Kick. He throws Solo into Roman’s path, but there’s no referee to count. Referee Shawn Bennett rushes to the ring—too late! Tonga and Fatu return, taking out Zayn and Uso. Roman is lining up his next move, but then Kevin Owens enters, hitting a Stunner on Roman! Roman kicks out!
Owens shoves Bennett aside, delivering mounted punches to Roman. He locks in underhooks, but then Cody Rhodes rushes to the ring! He brawls with Owens, hitting a Cody Cutter. The two fight into the crowd. Back in the ring, Solo attempts the Samoan Spike again, but Roman ducks and hits the spear, signaling for something big.
Paul Heyman walks down the aisle, holding the garland of the Tribal Chief. Tears fill his eyes as he kneels before Roman. As Roman readies to accept it, the moment is interrupted by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, making his way to the ring.
The Rock steps in, takes the garland from Heyman, and faces his cousin. With respect, he places the garland around Roman’s neck, officially acknowledging him as the Tribal Chief. The two share a handshake, followed by a heartfelt embrace, with Rock kissing Roman’s cheek.
Roman pauses, looking up, deep in thought, reflecting on the legacy of his father and uncle, who first gave him the garland. He then turns to soak in the crowd’s energy. Paul Heyman throws his hand in the air, and Roman joins him, raising his fist to the sky as the arena erupts.
Winner: Roman Reigns

Finally the OTC proved that he is the real owner of Ulla Falla. It was a long dragged match with multiple superstars involved in it as we all expect. It would be good if WWE separate them for a while so that Solo can build some credibility of his own without Bloodline reference. WE all Acknowledge our Original Tribal Chief as we already said this in our WWE Raw on Netflix Preview.
John Cena Returns for Farewell Tour
John Cena makes his grand entrance to kick off his retirement tour. The crowd goes wild as he steps into the ring, grabs the mic, and addresses the fans. He says everyone talks about it, but you can’t truly understand the feeling until you’re in the middle of it. Cena acknowledges the energy of Los Angeles, calling it a special place. He notes that this is the first time Monday Night Raw has been broadcast simultaneously around the world. The “Thank you, Cena!” chants fill the arena, and Cena takes a moment to soak it in.
He continues, sharing his appreciation for the fans, saying they’ve been the driving force behind his journey. He talks about how WWE’s reach has grown, now touching fans worldwide thanks to Netflix. Cena reflects on his history, from starting out in the indies in Southern California as the Prototype to winning his first world title. He reveals that this will be his last time in the ring in full jorts, standing before the fans in the city where dreams are made to say “thank you.”
Cena mentions the buzz around his retirement, with fans and experts speculating about his last match at WrestleMania. Names like Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Logan Paul, GUNTHER, and Cody Rhodes are thrown around. He admits that while a 17th world title seems unlikely, he’s at peace with it. “It’s okay,” he says, reflecting on his “losing streak” of 2,446 days. Cena jokes that maybe it’s time for him to step away, but as WWE fans know, in this business, never say never. He humorously suggests that winning his 17th title would be a miracle, maybe even bigger than winning an Oscar.
Then, he gets serious again. “Hold on, wait—this is WWE. Never say never,” he says. Cena pauses, considering the odds, then mentions he’s not just going to the Royal Rumble—he’s going to win it. He smiles and adds that it’s his last shot, so why not go for it? If anyone can defy the odds, it’s him. The crowd gets behind him as Cena wraps up with a final message: “Never give up.” He ends with determination, declaring that he’s going to win the Royal Rumble and make history at WrestleMania. Nothing is impossible.

John Cena’s return will always be a thing for WWE fans to watch. He never disappointed with his mic work. John Cena’s farewell tour officially kicked with him announcing his inclusion in the Royal Rumble Match. Well, we all want him to become the 17th time world champion. He has done all the things to reach this landmark. John Cena’s Farwell our will be one hell of a ride.
Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan for Women’s Championship
The match kicks off with both women trading heavy punches right out of the gates. Rhea Ripley takes control with a knee lift and a chokebomb. Liv Morgan gets tossed to the floor, but Rhea doesn’t stop there—she hits a cannonball to wipe out Raquel Rodriguez. Dominik Mysterio runs interference, but Liv knocks him off the apron. A diving Frankensteiner from Liv gets countered, and Rhea powerbombs her straight into the announce table, sending us to a break.
Back from the commercial, Liv is stomping away in the corner, but Rhea pulls her face-first into the turnbuckles. Rhea hits a diving X-Factor, covering for a two-count. Liv fires back, smashing Rhea’s face into the mat and landing big slaps. But Rhea powers up, dropping Liv with a couple of lariats and a running knee. Rhea connects with a double pump handle vertical suplex, but Liv counters a victory roll into a half-Nelson suplex. Rhea hits a lung blower, setting up for a tornado DDT—but Liv counters! The back-and-forth continues, with Liv hitting a pump handle and going for Riptide, but Liv kicks out!
Dominik slides a chair into the ring, distracting the referee, while Liv hits Oblivion onto the chair—but Rhea kicks out! Liv hits the Three Amigos, a little shimmy, and climbs to the top for a frog splash—but it’s so close. Liv looks for Oblivion again, but Rhea tosses her out of the ropes and finally connects with Riptide. She grabs Liv once more and secures the pin.
After the match, Dominik rushes into the ring, arms wide for a hug. Rhea looks at the title, kisses it, and sets it down. She opens her arms for Dominik—and kicks him right in the gentleman’s area! A furious Riptide wipes him out, leaving Dominik writhing on the mat. Rhea celebrates on the stage, holding her newly earned title high.
Winner: Rhea Ripley became Women’s Champion

Analysis
It was an outstanding match. Rhea Ripley finally won the championship from Liv Morgan who will be great in chasing the title once again. She will also be an ideal winner for this Women’s Royal Rumble 2025 if WWE wants her to fight Ripley again. WWE must book Ripley batter than her previous run where she barely defend the title. What will happen to the Judgment Day and Morgan-Dom relation? Wait and watch.
Important Updates from WWE Raw January 6 Results
The Undertaker rolls out on his motorcycle, rocking the American Badass persona. He cruises down the ramp, straight into the ring, then right back up the ramp. At the top, he shares a moment with Rhea Ripley—fist bumps, a high five, and a brief exchange—before riding off, leaving the crowd buzzing.
Meanwhile, the camera pans to the skybox, where the New Day is clearly feeling a little sour about something. (Though Kofi’s rocking a sweet leopard print coat, so at least there’s that.)
Backstage, Adam Pearce is having a chat with Bayley when he’s interrupted by Chad Gable. Gable rolls up with his usual swagger, talking about how he’s singlehandedly destroyed Otis and Alpha Academy. He’s ready to claim a singles title and put any rumors about his issues with luchadors to rest. Gable demands the best luchador for next week, making it clear that he’s more than ready for the challenge. Pearce asks if he’s sure, and Gable confidently says he’s never been more sure of anything. Pearce nods and excuses himself, heading off to make a phone call.
We then see “Main Event” Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre walking separately backstage, their paths about to cross, before we cut to a break. We come back from the commercial to an Instagram video of The Rock leaving the arena. He’s seen shaking hands with Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns, but when it comes to Triple H, he cold-shoulders him after a brief embrace. The video cuts to the loading dock, where Rock shares a heartfelt embrace with Cody Rhodes before getting in his car and driving off, casually saying, “I’ll see you tomorrow night at NXT.”
The front row is packed with celebrities this time. We see Bill Simmons and a few Netflix execs (who, unsurprisingly, don’t get a chyron). Also spotted is Vanessa Hudgens, rocking a “Hot Girls Love Pro Wrestling” shirt—honestly, she’s not wrong. Alongside them, we get a glimpse of Michelle McCool, Damage CTRL, and Lyra Valkyria enjoying the show.
In the stands, WWE Hardcore Champion and newly minted Raw theme composer Travis Scott makes an appearance. He’s chilling with a cigarette in hand, looking like the ultimate cool guy. (Side note: for those who might get upset by my opinions on smoking, I’m actually pretty neutral about it. Despite the health risks, I’d probably have picked up smoking later in life if I wasn’t aware of how nicotine messes with your body’s estradiol uptake—but that’s a whole other conversation.)
Anyway, Travis Scott is here for Jey Uso’s entrance, and we head to break once again.
Drew McIntyre vs Jey Uso
Jey Uso strikes first, attacking Drew McIntyre in the aisle before the bell even rings. Drew shrugs him off after a brief struggle and starts laying in some hard chops! He throws Jey into the ring, and referee Eddie Orengo checks on him before calling for the bell to start the match.
Jey responds quickly with a back elbow, setting up an enzuigiri. The momentum shifts as Drew reverses a whip, but Jey counters the leap-over with a kick to the midsection. The fight spills into the corner, where Jey hits a big powerbomb, both men crashing to the mat. They quickly get back to their feet and start trading punches. Drew blocks a kick but eats a vicious enzuigiri. Jey goes for a diving crossbody, covering for a two-count.
McIntyre recovers, landing a neckbreaker and a kip-up. Jey climbs to the top for a dive, but Drew gets his feet up, catching him on the way down. Drew hits a spinebuster into a jackknife pin, but Jey kicks out at two! He tries for a Liger Bomb, but Jey counters! The action continues back and forth until Drew lands a Future Shock DDT—Jey kicks out again! Drew waits for the Claymore, but Jey pops up with a spear! Drew kicks out, but it’s still not enough.
Off the ropes, McIntyre sets up for the Claymore, but Jey Uso kicks out of it—unbelievable! Drew goes for mounted punches in frustration and starts laying in heavy blows in the corner, followed by a headbutt. He stalks his opponent, but just as he closes the distance—Jey collapses in the middle of the ring, seemingly spent. Drew moves in, thinking he’s got it… but it’s a ruse!
Winner: Jey Uso

Analysis
Drew McIntyre losing this match is a good call. The angry McIntyre will be a treat to watch in the coming episodes instead of a satisfied McIntyre with a win. The reaction of the crowd for Yeet is out of this world. WWE must put something on Uso before he loses all his heat. On the other side, McIntyre can face Rhodes because it looks like it will be his year.
Backstage
Gabriel Iglesias is backstage, getting ready for an interview, but before he can even get a word in, New Day rolls up. They start complaining about not getting the chance to explain what happened with Big E, saying they should be the ones getting interviewed, not this “fluffy buffoon.” Gabriel fires back, telling them he liked them better when they had cereal. The interviewer cuts in, saying they’re out of time, and as Iglesias heads off to his seat, he throws in a “New Day sucks!” chant just to rile them up.
Right as that settles, Alpha Academy walks up, ready to chat, but Iglesias is already on his way out, laughing to himself as he exits. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman are seen walking backstage, and Heyman asks for a date. Roman, without missing a beat, offers up January 27. The two head into a WWE 2K25 room, clearly with plans in mind.
Seth Rollins vs CM Punk
CM Punk starts strong with a flurry of right hands, but Seth Rollins traps him in the ropes and unleashes a brutal assault. Punk counters with a clothesline, sending Rollins outside, but a plancha attempt misses the mark. Rollins dives back, clears the announce desk, and demands referee Rod Zapata to allow the chaos.
The brawl spills into the crowd after Punk back body drops Seth over the barricade and follows with a diving crossbody. Back at ringside, Seth dives but gets stopped with a punch to the midsection. Inside the ring, Rollins lands rabbit punches, but Punk counters with a kick and gourdbusters him into the ropes. A huge avalanche swinging neckbreaker sends us to a break!
Back from the commercial, Seth taunts Punk in the corner, but CM counters with two rising knees. Punk tries a bulldog, but Seth blocks and rolls through a diving crossbody, deadlifting Punk into a fireman’s carry. GO TO SLEEP connects, sending Punk to the floor!
Rollins mocks Punk while landing kicks and rolls him back inside, but Punk surprises him with BLACKOUT! Seth barely kicks out. Punk looks for another GTS, but Seth reverses and lands one of his own. A near fall has both men back outside, where Seth Pedigrees Punk is on the announce desk and another one is inside, but Punk refuses to stay down.
Both men trade slaps, punches, and chops. Punk counters a neckbreaker with a roundhouse kick, but Seth fires back with a Buckle Bomb and BLACKOUT. Punk miraculously gets his foot on the ropes!
Seth sets Punk up top, but Punk fights back with a right hand. Rollins, furious, charges up the ropes, looking for a superplex, but Punk counters mid-roll with GO TO SLEEP! Rollins bounces back, only to fall victim to a second GTS. CM Punk pins Seth Rollins for the win in an absolute war!
Winner: CM Punk
Grade A
Analysis
It was a great match, but I doubt WWE missed the finished part. How did CM Punk counter every move and kick out, but Rollins could not stand only two GTS? WWE must do better so that we can achieve something extraordinary in the next matches. Maybe WWE will not move forward with this rivalry in the WrestleMania season. If that’s the chance, then it is all good. Let us know what do your thing of WWE Raw January 6 Results from Netflix Debut Episode?
