John Cena Opens Post WrestleMania Raw
John Cena makes a grand entrance into the ring. He calls the ring announcer to join him and hands over a card. Cena expresses that he has been told his previous announcement was disrespectful. He introduces himself as the greatest of all time, showcasing his title and emphasizing that this is his final appearance in Las Vegas. He proclaims himself the last real champion.
Cena holds up his championship title and asserts that “winners write history.” He questions the crowd’s loyalty, stating that their cheers do not erase the past. He challenges them to reflect on their relationships and asks if they would treat their loved ones the same way. According to Cena, everyone in the arena owes him an apology, even if they are not brave enough to admit it. He points out that the crowd’s chants of “We aren’t sorry!” are not genuine, as they are indeed sorry.
The crowd responds with chants of “A**hole!” but Cena retorts that he has endured their harshest criticisms. He emphasizes that their noise holds no power over him. Instead, he focuses on his contract, revealing that he has only 36 appearances left. As the number decreases, he clarifies that these are not matches but public appearances. He declares that when the number hits zero, he will take the title with him, leaving the crowd with a new championship but keeping the legacy of the current one.
He then reflects on the potential of Cody Rhodes to save the situation, but claims Rhodes was outperformed and defeated. Cena urges the crowd to recognize his unmatched abilities and heart. Just as he invites everyone to take pictures with his title, Randy Orton suddenly appears. Orton delivers an RKO out of nowhere, knocking Cena unconscious. He holds up the title triumphantly before placing it on Cena’s body, leaving a dramatic end to the segment.
Grade B
Analysis
The 17th time champ is here after beating Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania Sunday Night. Fans in the arena gave an outstanding reaction to everything Cena did. John Cena vs Randy Orton will be a great rivalry to start with. It will be nostalgic for the long time WWE fans.
Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyira vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez for WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The match kicks off with Morgan and Lynch squaring off. Liv Morgan immediately takes control with grounded punches and delivers a kick to Becky’s spine. As the action unfolds, Becky fights back, trading punches before performing a rolling solebutt. She whips Morgan into a tag with Valkyria, leading to a double hip toss. The champions continue their assault, delivering a series of kicks in the corner, capped off with an enzuigiri. However, chaos ensues when Rodriguez accidentally throws Lyra into her own partner.
As the match progresses, Judgment Day is sent to the outside, allowing the champions to execute stereo baseball slides. After a commercial break, Raquel Rodriguez has Lyra in a Canadian backbreaker rack. Lyra fights out and connects with an enzuigiri, opening the door for a tag. Tags are made, and Lynch takes down Morgan with a kick and a charging forearm. She stacks her opponents and attempts springboard kicks, but her momentum is halted when Morgan counters with a Codebreaker.
The match continues with near-falls and high spots, including Lynch’s Manhandle Slam being interrupted by Rodriguez. After a series of exchanges, Raquel attempts a powerbomb, but Morgan pulls Becky down for a counter. The action becomes frantic as Raquel and Lyra fight for position. An avalanche powerbomb from Rodriguez only gets a two-count. The momentum shifts back and forth, with Morgan and Lynch delivering hard-hitting maneuvers and near-falls that keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
In a surprising finish, Judgment Day secures victory with Liv Morgan hitting Oblivion on Lyra Valkyria, making them the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. After the match, Becky pretends to comfort Lyra but then berates her for the loss. She returns to the ring to inflict more punishment, delivering repeated Manhandle Slams to Valkyria, showcasing her frustration and aggression following the defeat.
Winner: Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
Grade B
Analysis
WWE gave Lynch a moment at WrestleMania but the title reign could not go longer than 24 hours. Morgan and Rodriguez won the title which they should not lose in the first place. Becky Lynch attacked Valkyria was the way to go because Becky will surely elevate the Women’s IC title.
New Day Celebration and Return of Rusev
The New Day makes a lively entrance, proudly announcing themselves as the new WWE World Tag Team Champions. They encourage the crowd to show their appreciation by getting down on their knees, raising their hands, and shouting, “Thank god for the New Day!” Kofi Kingston boldly declares that no team is better than them, setting a confident tone for the night.
The Alpha Academy interrupts, with Maxxine Dupri adding some heat to the situation. She acknowledges the New Day’s claim to greatness but reminds them that the last time they faced Akira Tozawa and Otis Dozovic, they lost in just sixty seconds. Dupri challenges them to prove their worth by putting their newly won tag titles on the line right then and there. Xavier Woods asks the Las Vegas crowd if they want a match, but he pretends to decline the challenge, claiming they are not scared.
Just as the match is about to begin, the lights go down, and Rusev makes a shocking appearance. He rushes into the ring, taking out both Otis and Tozawa. The New Day seizes the opportunity to escape, leaving chaos in their wake. Rusev catches Tozawa in mid-air and throws him out of the ring with a powerful fallaway slam. He then delivers a devastating Machka Kick to Otis, followed by stomps to the back and locks in the Accolade. Despite the referee’s attempts to intervene, Otis passes out under Rusev’s relentless grip.
Grade C+
Analysis
Rusev is back with new theme and looked like a destroyer. He destroyed Alpha Academy. It is good to see him back if WWE keeps his momentum. Alpha Academy is a good started feud for the New Day to cement their heel status.
Backstage
Backstage, the Judgment Day group celebrates their own successes. They revel in the victory of their female members who won the tag titles, as well as Dominik Mysterio’s triumph in capturing the Intercontinental Championship. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and pride as they bask in their recent achievements.
Finn Balor approaches Dominik Mysterio with a serious look, creating a tense moment between them. Liv Morgan intervenes, reminding them that the important thing is that one of them holds a championship. Balor’s stern demeanour softens slightly, and he lightens the mood by joking that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The group shares a brief moment of smiles before the scene shifts.
IYO SKY’s Celebration and Match vs Stephanie Vaquer
IYO SKY makes her entrance, ready to hype up the crowd. She grabs the mic and expresses her excitement about her victory the previous night. Claiming it as the best night of her career, she asserts that she has beaten the best and, therefore, is the best. She calls out Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, stating that they can no longer forget her. Speaking in Japanese, she finishes by reminding everyone that she is the Genius of the Sky and the WWE Women’s World Champion.
NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer enters the scene to congratulate IYO. She introduces herself as La Primera and expresses her respect for IYO’s accomplishments. This respectful interaction quickly turns competitive as Vaquer challenges IYO to a match. Adam Pearce arrives to make the match official, setting the stage for an exciting confrontation.
The match begins with both women feeling each other out through mat grappling. IYO applies a wristlock, but Stephanie counters. They trade pin attempts until IYO sends Vaquer to the floor and performs a dive. Back in the ring, the action intensifies with a series of kicks and high-flying moves. After a thrilling back-and-forth, IYO hits an avalanche Spanish Fly, but the momentum shifts when Roxanne Perez runs in and attacks IYO, leading to a disqualification victory for IYO.
After the match, chaos ensues as Giulia enters and takes out Vaquer with a kick. She and IYO trade blows, adding to the frenzy. Just when it seems like things are spiralling out of control, Rhea Ripley makes a timely appearance, sending Perez flying with a headbutt. Giulia decides to retreat, recognizing that discretion is the better part of valour, leaving the situation tense but resolved for the moment.
Winner: IYO Sky
Grade B+
Analysis
The match between Stephanie Vaquer and IYO Sky was good, but could not get the required ending. Roxxane Perez attacked Sky, which means they will have a feud going forward. NXT superstars came to WWE Raw after Mania, which is a tradition, but two wrestlers who were fighting for the championship in NXT came to Raw, and it made no sense at all. WWE must clear their position on this booking: either Gulia and Vaquer will move to the main roster or stay on the NXT. The involvement of Ripley is also a good sign. She can teach young competitors better and also stay relevant.
Main Event Jey Uso Celebration
“Main Event” Jey Uso makes a grand entrance through the crowd, basking in the electric atmosphere. Once in the ring, he grabs a mic and proudly announces that the World Heavyweight Champion has arrived in the city. Jey reflects on the challenging road to WrestleMania, sharing how he gave everything he had to defeat GUNTHER and make him tap out. With gratitude in his voice, he promises to show up every week and continue working hard as he always has. To fire up the crowd, he asks if they’re excited to have him as their champion, and the crowd enthusiastically responds with a loud “yes!”
The celebration takes an emotional turn when Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring. Sami admits he almost did not come to Las Vegas, but he felt it was important to stand face-to-face with Jey. He looks Jey in the eye and expresses how proud he is of him, calling him his brother, his dawg, and his Uce. Sami tells Jey he loves him and emphasizes that he truly deserves the championship. The two share a heartfelt moment as Jey raises his title and his music hits. To add to the celebration, “Big” Jim Uso joins them, and the crowd cheers as the trio celebrates together.
Grade B+
Analysis
The crowd gave a great reaction to Jey Uso and everyone was ‘Yeeting’ with him. Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso made their return to celebrate with him. It was a fun moment for all.
Backstage
In a segment highlighting celebrities in attendance, footage from Logan Paul’s post-match interview at WrestleMania is shown. Logan confidently declares that he’s going to fight anyone in his way and maintain his WrestleMania winning streak. Meanwhile, AJ Styles is interviewed backstage and reflects on his loss to Logan. He admits it’s tough to accept, but he’s determined to bounce back because part of being “Phenomenal” is resilience.
The interview takes a turn when Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux interrupt. Kross mocks AJ, claiming that losing to Logan Paul legitimizes him and that there’s no coming back from it. AJ fires back, stating he won’t revert to the man he was a year ago because he hated who he saw in the mirror. He refuses to let Kross drag him down and challenges Kross to handle the “Logan Paul problem” himself. The tension lingers as AJ asserts his determination to move forward.
Gunther Attacked the Raw Commentary Panel
After a commercial break, GUNTHER is seen angrily confronting the commentary team. Michael Cole steps forward to defend himself, explaining that he’s just doing his job and pointing out that GUNTHER was the one who tapped out. In a fit of rage, GUNTHER slaps Cole’s headset off, shoves Pat McAfee, and locks Cole into the Gojira Clutch. Pat rushes in to save his partner, leading to a chaotic brawl between him and GUNTHER. Referees and road agents quickly arrive, but Pat’s podcast friends jump the barricade to assist, tying up security while GUNTHER continues to choke Pat out.
With McAfee face-down and unconscious, road agent Jason Jordan and general manager Adam Pearce direct GUNTHER to exit through the crowd. Medics are called for Pat, who begins to regain consciousness but struggles to leave the ring, appearing beet red and dry-heaving as he makes his way out, mostly under his own power. The situation creates a tense atmosphere as the crowd processes the unexpected chaos.
When the show returns from break, a visibly shaken Joe Tessitore takes over commentary, recapping the intense situation that just unfolded. The atmosphere is still charged as viewers are reminded of the unpredictable nature of the evening.
In a backstage segment, Pat is seen gulping down water but continues to dry heave as he heads to the trainers’ room. Meanwhile, Adam Pearce tries to convince Michael Cole to take the rest of the night off, but Cole, fired up and determined, refuses to let GUNTHER’s bullying stop him from doing his job, especially during WrestleMania week. Cole walks down the aisle and takes his place next to Joe, clearly haggard but ready to continue.
Grade B
Analysis
Gunther was furious over his loss at WrestleMania Saturday Night. He attacked both Cole and McAfee. WWE should give him a proper feud to recover instead of making him a person to destroy defenceless people.
Dominik Mysterio vs Penta for WWE Intercontinental Championship
The match kicks off with Dominik Mysterio landing the first strike. He whips Penta across the ring, but Penta counters by kicking Dominik’s leg out. Dominik quickly regains control, cornering Penta and delivering a series of boots. After a whip across the ring, Penta avoids Dominik’s lariat and counters with a quick tijeras, sending the champion to the floor. Penta gains momentum with a diving crossbody, but Dominik interrupts his offence with a well-timed superkick. Undeterred, Penta fires back with a tope con giro, pumping up the crowd before the commercial break.
Back from the break, Penta builds momentum with a handstand double stomp for a near-fall. He follows with a series of superkicks and climbs to the top rope, but Dominik counters with a legal high kick and a tornado DDT for two. The action intensifies as Penta hits a flip piledriver and takes the fight to the outside, wiping out both Dominik and Finn Balor. Fired up, Penta gets back into the ring and climbs to the top rope, ready to finish the match.
Before Penta can capitalize, JD McDonagh makes a surprise appearance, shoving Penta off the top rope. With the opening created, Dominik climbs to the top rope and delivers a frog splash to seal the victory. Dominik Mysterio wins by pinfall, successfully retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
The interference from McDonagh ensures Dominik remains champion, keeping the Judgment Day’s dominance intact. Despite Penta’s impressive performance and close calls, Dominik once again proves that his cunning and alliances are key to maintaining his title reign.
Winner: Dominic Mysterio
Grade B
Analysis
Both Dom and Penta can give a 5-star classic if given the proper time and opportunity. Finn Balor came to support Dom, but it was awkward. The good thing is that JD McDonagh returned to Raw after a career-threatening injury. WWE must do something with Judgment Day as a group because the story looks like a dragged-out one now.
WWE Raw April 21 Post WrestleMania Closeout Brawl
Seth Rollins makes his entrance, accompanied by Paul Heyman, and arrogantly steps into the ring with a microphone in hand. Taking his time to soak in the moment, Rollins declares himself a visionary and boasts about stealing Paul Heyman from Roman Reigns and CM Punk’s best friend. He proudly proclaims himself the winner of WrestleMania’s main event, revelling in his success and dominance.
Before Rollins can finish, CM Punk storms into the ring, wasting no time. He goes straight for Rollins, hammering him with punches and relentlessly stomping him in the corner. Paul Heyman watches from the corner, leering as Punk’s fury unfolds. CM Punk then turns his attention to Heyman, grabs him by the lapels, and backs him into the corner despite Heyman’s threats of a lawsuit. Rollins seizes the chaos, pulling Punk off Heyman and delivering a devastating Blackout. As the credits roll, Heyman declares that Seth Rollins is the new undisputed top star in the industry, signalling a seismic shift.
The celebration is short-lived as Roman Reigns makes a thunderous entrance to the sound of his music. Rollins quickly throws Punk out of the ring and prepares for Reigns, but Roman charges in with a massive spear, taking Rollins down. Heyman finds himself alone in the ring with Reigns, who lands a Superman Punch, leaving the Tribal Chief fired up and ready to dominate. However, just as Roman gears up to spear Heyman, Bron Breakker slides into the ring and delivers a shocking spear to Reigns out of nowhere.
The pandemonium continues as Punk tries to get back into the action, only for Breakker to spear him as well. It becomes clear that Bron is now Rollins’ enforcer as Seth directs him to attack Reigns outside the ring. Roman briefly fights back with an uppercut, but Breaker takes a long way around, and spears Reign through the timekeeper’s area. With Reigns back in the ring, Seth locks him in a reverse chinlock and delivers another Blackout, following it up with one on Punk for good measure.
Standing amid the carnage, Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker raise their hands in victory over the fallen bodies of Roman Reigns and CM Punk. The trio cements their dominance, leaving the crowd stunned as WrestleMania’s aftermath sets the stage for an explosive future in WWE.
Grade A+
Analysis
Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman will surely change the WWE direction, similar to how Paul attacked Punk in the early 2010s and Roman in the early 2020s. The best shot was the entry of Bronn Breakker as a personal bodyguard for Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. It will elevate his star level for sure and make him a main event star. The feud between the WrestleMania main eventers is not finished yet. The WWE Raw April 21 Post WrestleMania show ended on a high note with his segment.
