Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes – WWE King of the Ring Tournament’s Final

    credit: WWE

The winner will be crowned the King and will earn an opportunity to challenge for the world title at SummerSlam. The crowd was electric and sang both Randy and Cody’s theme song. The first few minutes were amazing as the crowd sang and waved their phones in the air. Randy and Cody struggled for the upper hand. Rhodes hit a bulldog. Orton delivered a Superplex off the top rope, hurting his own back in the process.

The back bothered Orton throughout the match as Rhodes kept targeting it. Cody hit a Disaster Kick and a snap suplex. Orton responded with a reverse headlock backbreaker. Randy landed a pair of clotheslines followed by a snap powerslam for a two-count. Cody landed Cody Cutters, one from the middle and one from the top rope, for near fall. Orton hit the draping DDT and prepared for the RKO. Cody countered it with a Cross Rhodes for another near fall.

As The Viper got up, he delivered RKO for a two-count. Randy was in disbelief and started preparing for the Punt Kick. Orton hesitated for a bit before going for the Punt. The hesitation allowed Cody to move out of the way and apply a Figure Four Leglock. The hold broke and both competitors exchanged punches. Cody jumped from the middle rope for Cutter, but Orton delivered RKO. The American Nightmare somehow kicked out at two.

Randy rolled outside and grabbed a steel chair. The referee didn’t allow Orton to use the chair. Orton ripped off the turnbuckle pad. However, it was Rhodes who sent Orton ribs-first into the exposed turnbuckle and delivered a Cross Rhodes for the win. Both Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis came in the ring and Aldis presented Cody with the crown. In a post-match interview with Byron Saxton, Rhodes praised Orton. He vowed to take the title back at SummerSlam.

    Winner: Cody Rhodes

    Grades: B+

Analysis: It was a brilliant match to begin WWE Night Of Champions 2025. The crowd made the experience a whole lot better. Both Cody and Randy gave us glimpses of their heelish side. Orton tried to use the chair and the turnbuckle. Rhodes used the exposed turnbuckle and Orton’s back injury to his advantage. In the end, Cody was the expected winner, and he’ll go against John Cena at SummerSlam.

Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Rodriguez – Street Fight

    credit: WWE

The Street Fight began at a quick pace. Raquel absorbed Rhea’s offense and delivered a vicious clothesline. Rodriguez followed it up with a couple of fallaway slams. Rodriguez tied Ripley to the ropes and delivered multiple chops. Raquel grabbed a kendo stick and targeted Ripley’s midsection. Rhea somehow managed to break free of the ropes and sent Raquel into the steps at ringside. Ripley took off the commentary table’s hood and bridged it over the timekeeper’s area.

Rhea launched herself for a cannonball but got caught. Raquel landed a powerbomb, cracking through the table’s hood. Rodriguez grabbed a table from under the ring and placed it in the corner of the ring. Rhea unhooked a belt from her gear and smacked Rodriguez several times. Ripley delivered Razor’s Edge for a two-count. Roxanne Perez interfered in the match to save Raquel from a Prison Trap. Rhea chased Perez to the outside and delivered a suplex on the floor.

Ripley pulled a trash can from under the ring and put it over Roxanne’s head. Rhea landed a kick to the head to take out Perez. Rodriguez recovered and landed a corkscrew elbow drop. Raquel attempted a Tejana Bomb, but Rhea countered with a hurricanrana. Raquel laid out Rhea and placed the table on the top rope, forming a platform. Both competitors climbed to the top, and Ripley delivered a riptide from the table platform onto the canvas for the victory.

    Winner: Rhea Ripley

    Grades: B

Analysis: It was a very good Street Fight. Rhea Ripley was going to win as we predicted in the WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Predictions. However, Rodriguez was also booked strongly. She had the opportunity to step up from the Judgment Day as Liv Morgan is injured. Roxanne Perez is trying her best to be acknowledged as a member of Judgment Day. The match’s finish was unique.

    Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross

    credit: WWE

The crowd was wild for Sami Zayn, but they also cheered for Karrion Kross. Kross delivered multiple stomps and Zayn replied by sending Kross to the outside. At ringside, Sami landed a moonsault block off the barricade. Back in the ring, Kross hit a Doomsday Saito and assaulted Zayn for a while. Kross and Scarlett taunted Zayn throughout. Sami bounced back with a clothesline. Sami delivered an ax handle from the top rope. Kross fought back with a neckbreaker.

Karrion countered Blue Thunder Bomb into Doomsday Saito. Zaynn avoided the Kross Hammer and landed a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Kross hit a pair of German Suplexes but Zayn responded with his trademark exploder suplex in the corner. Sami almost faded on the Kross Jacket but somehow reached the bottom rope. Kross delivered two clotheslines in the corner. Zayn followed him the third time and hit a Helluva Kick for the win.

    Winner: Sami Zayn

    Grades: C

Analysis: It was a decent match. Kross got himself some fans in recent weeks, but his in-ring work didn’t look very impressive. Zayn’s ability to make others look good brought an average performance out of Kross. In the end, Zayn’s got the win, and he should go on for some bigger storyline.

Jacob Fatu (c) vs Solo Sikoa – WWE United States Championship

    credit: WWE

Solo cheaply attacked Fatu before the bell rang and mocked him. The match began and Fatu dominated Sikoa. The US Champion delivered a diving clothesline followed by a pair of senton splashes. The challenger bounced back with a Spinning Solo on the apron and one on the floor. In the ring, Solo hit a running hip attack in the corner. Fatu began his series of offensive moves with a German Suplex. He followed it up with a superkick and a running hip attack in the corner. Fatu landed Impaler DDT followed by a Swanton Bomb for a near fall.

JC Mateo reached the apron to distract the referee. In the meantime, a returning Tonga Loa delivered a Spinning Neckbreaker on Fatu. Solo crawled to cover but Fatu kicked out. Fatu took out Tonga and Mateo with a Fosbury Flop at ringside. Back in the ring, Jacob landed a pop-up Samoan Drop on Solo followed by a moonsault. Hikuleo, now named Talla Loa, pulled Fatu outside and delivered a chokeslam. In the ring, Sikoa delivered Samoan Spike for the win.

    Winner: Solo Sikoa

    Grades: B+

Analysis: Wow! There is the return of Tonga Loa and the debut of Talla Loa. Solo Sikoa is the new United States Champion, his first-ever championship on the main roster, and the Bloodline got stronger. This was surprising but it’s a feel-good moment for Solo. He worked hard last year but didn’t achieve anything. Jacob Fatu lost the title, but he’ll be chasing Sikoa in the coming weeks.

Asuka vs Jade Cargill – WWE Queen of the Ring Tournament’s Final

    credit: WWE

The stakes are higher as Asuka and Jade Cargill battled in the Queen of the Ring Final with the winner getting a world title shot at SummerSlam. Asuka attempted to lock in an arm hold and an octopus stretch, but Cargill slammed her down. Asuka targeted Jade’s knee and applied the knee bar. Cargill powered through, deadlifting Asuka into a German Suplex. Cargill delivered a spinebuster and a fallaway slam. Cargill nailed Asuka with a superkick followed by a chokeslam for a near fall.

Asuka unleashed a furious strike combo and landed a top-rope missile dropkick for a two-count. Cargill recovered and planted Asuka with a sit-out powerbomb. Asuka responded with a cross armbreaker. Cargill showed her power and blasted Asuka with a pump kick. In the end, Asuka delivered two stiff kicks and charged for the Empress Impact, but Cargill countered into Jaded for the pin and the win. Adam Pearce presented the crown to Cargill.

    Winner: Jade Cargill

    Grades: B

Analysis: It was a fine match. Jade Cargill is the Queen of the Ring as we predicted in WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Predictions. The finish was kind of botched. Asuka’s shoulder was up on the pin. It isn’t clear whether it was scripted, or Cargill just pulled the leg more.

John Cena (c) vs CM Punk – Undisputed WWE Championship

    credit: WWE

The crowd was echoing with chants for Cena. They locked up and used traditional headlocks and wristlocks. Cena landed a snapmare for a one-count. Punk escaped and did the “You can’t see me” taunt. Cena hit a fisherman’s suplex and a scoop slam followed by a shoulder tackle. Punk delivered a clothesline and a side leg sweep, but Cena quickly responded with a side slam. Cena landed two shoulder tackles, the back suplex powerbomb, and then the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Punk avoided the AA and hit a swinging neckbreaker.

Punk climbed to the top rope and delivered an elbow drop. Cena countered the GTS into STF. Punk quickly shifted into Anaconda Vice grip. Cena stood up and hit Attitude Adjustment for a near fall. Cena attempted AA again, but Punk countered into a DDT. He turned the tables by applying the STF on Cena. Cena backed up himself and delivered another AA for a two-count. Cena climbed to the ropes for a Super AA, but Punk knocked him off.

Punk launched himself with a crossbody, but Cena powered up and delivered an AA for the third time. Punk kicked out yet again with everyone in disbelief. Cena exited the ring in frustration and grabbed the championship belt. The crowd chanted “No” and Cena unexpectedly agreed to not use the belt. Punk countered AA into GTS for a near fall. Both men slowly got up. Cena attempted a shoulder tackle, but Punk moved aside, allowing Cena to take down the referee.

Punk seized the moment with a second GTS but there was no official. Seth “Freakin” Rollins stormed to the ring with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. Punk tried to lay out Reed and Breakker but they recovered and slammed Punk through the commentary table. Rollins called for a referee for the cash-in. Charles Robinson rushed down the ramp, but Cena intercepted him with a clothesline.

Cena confronted Rollins in the ring and planted him with an AA. Breakker and Reed double-teamed Cena before Penta arrived. Breakker landed a Northern Lights suplex on the stage on Penta. Sami Zayn arrived and brawled with Breakker. Penta leaped off the ramp, taking both men out with a dive. In the ring, Reed ascended the top rope, but Punk shoved him off. Cena delivered an AA to Reed.

Cena and Punk were alone in the ring. The crowd roared as the two greats hugged. Cena’s expressions darkened just like Elimination Chamber 2025. Punk blocked the low blow and lifted Cena for GTS. Rollins smashed Punk with the briefcase and landed a Stomp. Cena tossed Rollins out of the ring and stole the victory.

    Winner: John Cena

    Grades: A

Analysis: The main event match was fun. Cena and Punk gave their all in the ring. Cena has been slow in the ring in 2025, and it was evident from this match as well. However, they worked well still with their limitations. Seth Rollins’ involvement made the ending very chaotic and interesting.

Overall, a great show! What match do you enjoy the most? Give your thoughts on WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Results.
