Logan Paul Retires from Boxing to focus on WWE Career


Logan Paul has established himself as a star in multiple projects, including Boxing and professional wrestling. Logan Paul has now retired from Boxing to focus on his WWE Career. Most recently, Logan Paul said, “Yeah, I think I’ve retired from boxing”, in an interview with Fox Business. He further claimed during this interview that, “There’s no more money in boxing”. This news has made headlines since then. Let’s talk about Paul’s career in combat sports. 

Logan Paul’s Boxing Career

Starting as a YouTuber, Logan Paul made his boxing debut in a white-collar boxing match against a fellow YouTuber, KSI, in 2018. This about was declared as a majority draw. In 2019, Logan Paul vs KSI II happened from the Staples Center. This time, KSI got the victory via a split decision. 

On June 6, 2021, Logan Paul faced one of the biggest names in Boxing, Floyd Mayweather, in an exhibition fight. The ending of the about was quite controversial as the war went the distance and no winner was declared. Paul defeated former mixed martial artist Dillon Danis in his most recent battle. This marked the last ever fight of Paul’s boxing career. He has announced his retirement from Boxing to pursue his career as a professional wrestler. 

Logan Paul’s Professional Wrestling Career

Logan Paul is currently signed to WWE. He debuted on the April 2, 2021, episode of WWE SmackDown. He was involved in a little stint at WrestleMania 37 in the Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn match. Logan ended up taking a Stunner by Owens. In 2022, during the build to WrestleMania 38, The Miz introduced Logan Paul as his tag team partner against Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at the Grandest Stage Of Them All. Miz and Paul defeated The Mysterious. However, Miz attacked Logan after the match, starting a future storyline. 

In June 2022, Logan Paul signed a multi-year WWE Contract. He returned to challenge The Miz at SummerSlam, where he won. Later that year, Logan Paul challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on November 5 at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Paul lost in that match but was highly praised by fans and critics worldwide for his wrestling skills. Logan Paul made a shocking return at Royal Rumble 2023. He entered at the 29th number and had an impressive performance, eliminating Seth Rollins in the process and making a viral moment with Ricochet.

On February 18, Paul interfered in the Elimination Chamber match to cost Seth Rollins the United States Championship. This led to a match between Rollins and Paul at WrestleMania 39. Logan lost that match. Then he participated in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and defeated Ricochet at SummerSlam. After his fight with Dillon Danis, Logan Paul called out the then-US Champ Rey Mysterio. A match was made official for Crown Jewel.

Logan Paul claimed the US Title, his first-ever title in WWE. Paul has been very active after this win on his social media platforms. He has also shown his desire to be a World Champion in WWE in future. He is arguably the best celebrity turned wrestler of all time.

Will Logan Paul ever return to Boxing? 

Looking at Logan Paul’s back story, he is innovative and always looks to do something new. He is done with Boxing right now, but there is always a never-say-never term in combat sports. Logan Paul may change his mind if any outrageous or crazy project comes his way. Until then, Logan Paul has retired from Boxing and will be a full-time WWE wrestler in the upcoming future. The examples of Brock Lesnar and CM Returning to Wrestling are an open invitation for other athletes who previously thought WWE paid less than other sports.
