India vs New Zealand T20I Series 2026: The Final Score

India won the five match T20I series 3 to 2. They won the first three games. New Zealand won the last two. The finale came at Seddon Park in Hamilton on November 1. New Zealand won it by seven wickets with 12 balls to spare.

How India Built a 3 to 0 Lead

India won the first T20I in Christchurch by four wickets. Naman Dhir hit the winning six. India won the second by four wickets too. They recovered from 70 for 5. Tilak Varma finished on 51 not out.

India then won the third in Wellington by six wickets. Abhishek Sharma smashed 113 off 38 balls. The series was sealed with two games left.

Auckland: The Series Turns

Auckland felt like a dead rubber. New Zealand did not treat it that way. Glenn Phillips hit 107 off 49 balls. Jacob Duffy took four wickets. New Zealand won by 87 runs.

That result gave the hosts belief. It also gave India a warning.

Hamilton: India’s Innings

New Zealand won the toss and chose to field. Shreyas Iyer wanted to bat first anyway. Adam Milne struck early. Abhishek fell for 1. Sanju Samson followed for 4. India were 19 for 2.

Ishan Kishan hit back. He made 61 off 32 balls with five fours and five sixes. Iyer added 50 off 23. Together they put on 93 in 7.1 overs.

Then the innings slipped. Iyer fell the ball after his fifty. Kishan followed soon after. India went from 111 for 2 to 133 for 5.

Naman Dhir made 33 off 23. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 22 off 17. India finished on 191 for 8. Milne took 4 for 19.

Hamilton: Seifert and Phillips Finish It

Arshdeep Singh removed Finn Allen for 2. New Zealand were 9 for 1. Then Tim Seifert took over. He had been struggling for form. Naman Dhir dropped him on 13.

Seifert made the most of it. Daryl Mitchell added 29 off 16 in a 73 run stand. Varun Chakaravarthy ended that partnership. Glenn Phillips then finished the job with 65 not out off 38 balls.

Reddy bowled Seifert for 93 off 50 balls. He missed a century by seven runs. New Zealand reached 195 for 3 in 18 overs.

Phillips was named Player of the Series. He hit 107 and 65 not out in the last two games.

What Went Wrong for India

India’s bowlers could not stop the big hitters. Phillips and Seifert both scored freely in the last two games. Bhuvneshwar Kumar went for 20 in the sixth over in Hamilton.

The top order also wobbled. Abhishek, Samson and Tilak all fell cheaply. Kishan and Iyer rescued the innings, but India could not push on.
