WWE Friday Night SmackDown went live from Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 15. The show featured a couple of title matches. The Bloodline drama was the highlight of the show as both parties continued their quest for the fifth member at Survivor Series: WarGames. The tournament for the Women’s US Championship began. Let’s delve into WWE SmackDown November 15 Results.
Cody Wants Kevi
The show kicked off with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. We got a recap of KO’s attack on Randy Orton. Rhodes called out Owens twice but he didn’t appear. Instead, Nick Aldis came out. He told Cody that he understands the anger. SmackDown GM also focused on saying that piledriver was banned for years due to obvious reasons. Nick said that Owens can’t appear here after his actions and the matter will be resolved internally.
Cody reminded Aldis of his WWE SmackDown wrestling background and asked him what he would do if he was in place of Cody. The American Nightmare told Aldis to let this settle inside the ring or he will do it elsewhere. Cody angrily walked away as Aldis was confused.
Grade: B+
Analysis: It was an intense segment to open the show. Cody works great to build intensity in a story. Aldis played his part well too. It looks like the match will be official for Survivor Series in the coming week.
Bayley vs Candice LeRae vs B-Fab
As the bell rang, LeRae dropkicked Bayley. B-Fab hit Candice with a body slam and a sliding clothesline. Bayley delivered an elbow to B-Fab from the second rope. Candice broke the pinfall. Bayley went for a superplex on LeRae as they were on the ropes. B-Fab hit a powerbomb sending both of them down in a cool looking Tower of Doom spot. B-Fab landed an inverted neckbreaker into a face buster for a nearfall on Bayley. In the end, Bayley rolled B-Fab for the win.
Winner: Bayley
Grade: C
Analysis: It was a fun match. LeRae is a brilliant performer and we witnessed it yet again. Bayley got the last laugh and advanced in the Women’s US Title tournament. The brackets of the tournament were unveiled and the first ever champion will be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
US Title Open Challenge
Sami Zayn invited LA Knight to join them as the fifth member in WarGames. We cut to the ring where Knight made his entrance. On the mic, Knight replied to Sami that he had bigger things to focus on, such as the open challenge. Legado Del Fantasma arrived to answer. Santos Escobar discussed the possibility of bringing both the men’s and the women’s US Championships in the group. WWE SmackDown Knight didn’t want to give him another opportunity. The US Champion noticed Berto staring him the whole time. He gave him the title match. The referee came in and Knight vs Humberto began.
Berto landed a dropkick and tried a roll-up pin but failed. Knight hit a body slam from the top rope followed by an elbow drop. In the end, Knight retained with a BFT. Knight’s celebrations were cut short as a returning Shinsuke Nakamura attacked him.
Winner: LA Knight
Grade: B-
Analysis: A decent match to give some TV time to the US Champion. Nakamura is back after a long hiatus. Knight has a big challenger in his way in form of the King of Strong Style.
WarGames chaos
The new Bloodline entered the ring. Solo took and mic and demanded acknowledgement from WWE Universe. The OG Bloodline interfered and a fight broke in Milwaukee. The Usos took out Tama and Loa. Fatu laid out both Jimmy and Jey.
Reigns hit a spear on Solo as Sami landed a dive to the outside. Roman and Jacob came face-to-face before Bronson Reed blindsided the OTC. Reed hit Jimmy with a Tsunami.
Reigns tried to fight back with a Superman Punch on Loa. However, Solo laid out Roman followed by a Tsunami from Reed. Solo and his Bloodline stood fall with their new ally Bronson Reed. Jey told Reigns to make a call.
Grade: B+
Analysis: It was another vital segment in the Bloodline Civil War. Out of nowhere, Reed joined Solo as game changer. It looks like Roman exactly knows whom to call here.
WWE SmackDown Motor City Machine Guns vs Street Profits
The WWE Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns were defended their titles against Street Profits. The match started with multiple quick tags and nearfalls. Both Sabin and Shelley landed dives to the outside to take out the challengers. The match was fine until Tomasso Ciampa ran through everyone in the match. Johnny Gargano camee out to talk to Ciampa who was frustrated. In the ring, MCMG showed sportsmanship to Street Profits. The Profits too were upset about their lost opportunity and they attacked the champions.
Winner: No contest.
Grade: B
Analysis: The tag team division on SmackDown has shifted gears with this angle. Both DIY and Street Profits are mad and coming after the titles. This story has the potential to revive the tag team division.
Nia Jax vs Naomi
Our main event of the night was Nia Jax defending her WWE SmackDown against Naomi. Nia dominated early on in the match with Naomi trying for some offense on the champion. Jax hit a headbutt and applied the half carb to wear the challenger down. Naomi caught Jax with a kick but the Irresistible Force soon took her out with a Samoan Drop.
Naomi escaped the Annihilator and landed a cross body.
Backstage, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez laid out Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. In the match, Tiffany’s distraction gave some advantage to the champion. However, Naomi countered a body slam into a nearfall. Bayley ran down to take out Stratton. Naomi landed the split-legged moonsault but Nia somehow kicked out at two. Candice LeRae’s distraction allowed the champion to hit an Annihilator for the win.
Winner: Nia Jax
Grade: B
Analysis: It was a fine way to close out the show in Milwaukee. Watching the chaos, it looks like we are headed to a Women’s WarGames match.
Final Word
In the final moment of the show, we saw Roman Reigns on the phone calling the Wise Man Paul Heyman. The call was disconnected and it looked like Heyman had changed his number. The show was stacked with multiple Bloodline segments as we expect from a Friday Night SmackDown. The Women’s US Title tournament is underway creating multiple opportunities for under-utilized talents on the rosters. We also got the info that Kevin Owens will be on SmackDown next week in Salt Lake City for a face-off with Cody Rhodes.
Overall, it was a fun show with average wrestling but good story progression. It gave us multiple reasons to tune into the next week’s show. Did you like WWE SmackDown November 15 Results?
