WWE Royal Rumble took place on January 29. Royal Rumble is one of the significant four events of WWE. WWE Royal Rumble started the official entry to the WrestleMania season. This year’s Royal Rumble has four matches booked from the night other than the two official Royal Rumble Matches. WWE Universal Championship, WWE Championship, and WWE Raw Women Championship were on the line for this spectacular night. A mixed tag team match is also held between Edge and Beth Phoenix with The Miz and Maryse. Let us provide you with a WWE Royal Rumble 2022 critical and honest review.
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins WWE Royal Rumble Review
WWE has provided this match at an earlier stage as they are planning a match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Seth Rollins brought back the Shield Persona to distract Roman Reigns. The game was as good as expected from these two former teammates. But the finish was not up to the mark. Roman Reigns disqualified himself by refraining from punishing Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns has never lost a singles match in the past 739 days. This finish was marked as the end of that streak. Although he retains his championship can do it with any other booking options. The only mesmerizing thing in the whole scenario is that WWE will extend this feud, and we may get one or two more matches between these two. As we are writing WWE Royal Rumble Review, we may get to write for the next two matches soon.
Women Royal Rumble Review
First of all, check the Royal Rumble entrant female superstars. Sasha Banks, Melina, Tamina, Kelly Kelly, Aliyah, Liv Morgan, Queen Zelina, Bianca Belair, Dana Brooke, Michelle McCool, Sonya Deville, Natalya, Cameron, Naomi, Carmella, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Ivory, Brie Bella, Mickie James, Alicia Fox, Nikki A.S.H., Summer Rae, Nikki Bella, Sarah Logan, Lita, Molly Holly, Ronda Rousey, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler.
The women’s Royal Rumble was good. We have seen some rivalries getting exposure at the event. Some of the legends and past superstars also entered the Rumble to take back WWE Universe to the Nostalgia. We have seen we look back to Micki James and Michelle McCool feud from 2009-10. It also took back to the rivalry of Nattie and Summer Ray that started some days ago on social media. WWE also wisely booked the tensions between Naomi and Sonya Deville for current superstars. They also expose the tensions between Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley on the same pattern. Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair remained the last two superstars. Rousey eliminated Flair from winning the championship. We have already predicted this win in our Women Royal Rumble Predictions.
Becky Lynch vs. Doudrop WWE Royal Rumble Review
This match was never expected to be a classic as both are fighting each other first time on the pay-per-view. However, they did not disappoint at all. Becky Lynch is a veteran, and Doudrop also performed fluently. WWE is always harsh to overweight women superstars. Let’s hope Doudrop should not get that type of treatment here in WWE. Both sold well for each other and performed smoothly. Becky Lynch may have one more match with her. But she is entering WrestleMania as WWE Raw Women Champion. It is exciting to note who Ronda Rousey will challenge at WrestleMania.
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley WWE Championship Review
Brock Lesnar is defending his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley. WWE fans waited for this match very long. When Bobby Lashley rejoined WWE, one match was speculated the most was the match against Brock Lesnar. Finally, WWE pulled the trigger and quickly brought us this match due to booking changes at Day 1 pay-per-view. This match will never be a technical masterpiece from these two giants. But this match will surely be a collision of two superpowers. Bobby Lashley and Brock hit their moves. Lashley took all the beating of Brock and always came back. Roman Reigns timely interference and patch-up with Paul Heyman proved enough for Lesnar to lose the belt. Lashley won the match with a pinfall. It was a good match but could not have a clear finish due to the storyline of Roman and Brock.
Edge and Beth vs. Miz and Maryse Review
Edge and Miz rivalry is going long. Maybe this will end at WrestleMania as currently there are no further plans for both superstars. WWE brought back Beth Phoenix for this match, and she had fun in this match. All four competitors enjoyed working this match. But this match never clicked. The Miz and Edge can do better on their own without their wives’ involvement. If you see the fun part of the match, then it is good, but if you focus in-ring portion, then it is not up to par. WWE provided a delightful finish with Edge and Phoenix hitting their respective finisher to end the match. This was the last match for our WWE Royal Rumble Review other than the official Royal Rumble match for men.
Men Royal Rumble Match Review
These are all 30 men o enter the match; AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Austin Theory, Robert Roode, Ridge Holland, Montez Ford, Damian Priest, Sami Zayn, Johnny Knoxville, Angelo Dawkins, Omos, Ricochet, Chad Gable, Dominik Mysterio, Happy Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Rick Boogs, Madcap Moss, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Otis, Big E, Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar.
So, Brock Lesnar emerged victorious in the match. This match was not great if we see the previous history of this match. There were no breakups in the teams. No real drama or storyline developments between superstars. The only development of the match was some work of AJ Styles and Austin Theory. Some heat moments for Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss involving Drew McIntyre. There were not many surprise entrants other than Bad Bunny and Shane o Mac. WWE should have any other superstar to win the match as Brock can challenge Roman at WrestleMania without winning it. But this is WWE’s booking style. Hence, Our WWE Royal Rumble Review ends here.
